Hi Mary
I don’t know if you are still looking for your Ellam ancestors.

I have had a look through my records and come up with this record in the 1941 census

Charles Ellam 25 ware grinder (think is another name for wood grinder)
Mary Ellam 25
Jane Ellam 5 (I think this is Elizabeth but with a family name and not her own)
George Ellam 11 month
Hillary Haigh 13 F. S. (family or female servant)
All born in Yorkshire and living in Mills Bridge, Linthwaite, Huddersfield.

This is the only entry I have for this family which would indicate it is the one you are looking for.

My baptism records show a George Ellam of Charles & Mary Ellam wood grinder of Bradley Mills, Huddersfield baptised 2 August 1840 at Huddersfield Saint Peter’s
And an Elizabeth Ann Ellam of Charles & Mary Ellam wood grinder of Huddersfield born 4 December 1835 and baptised 15 May 1836 at Huddersfield Saint Paul’s

I have had a further look into my records and I found a marriage or Charles Ellam of Huddersfield to Mary Hargreaves of Almondbury on the18 January 1835 at Huddersfield Saint Peter’s

And the Baptism of Charles Ellam son of John & Elizabeth Ellam wood grinder of Huddersfield baptised 24 July 1814 at Huddersfield Saint Peter’s.

I hope this is of use and if you need to ask any you can contact me at my email j.r.ellam@hotmail.co.uk

Regards
John Ellam
