Hello,

It's lovely to hear from you. I have heard from a number of Robert and Elizabeth Ellenders ancestors, it is wonderful to know about another of their children. I have an extensive tree of this family, if you are interested. I also have several photo's, one of Sarah Jane and some of my great grandmother Ann Mary (b. 1850).

I would love to learn about Keziah and her family, and anyone else in the family if I could.

You can e-mail me at suzegm62@hotmail.com if you would like.

Looking forward to hearing back.

Suze

Hello,

I realize your messages date back to late 2006, but hopefully you are still interested in the Ellenders.
My great grandmother was Ann Ellender, born in Holkham Feb. 10, 1850. Her father was Robert Ellender and mother was Elizabeth Barnes.

I also noticed that you have Skilling as part of your name.
If this is a surname of yours or your family, I also have Skilling in mine as Barnes and Skilling families are connected.

My uncle Hartley (b. 1916) , married Edith Skilling (b. 1915-16). She had an Aunt Edith, also two brothers I am told, one named Fred.

Are we related at all?

Hope to hear from you.

Suze

Hi Paul,
Your Matthew (1840) and my GGgrandfather, Edwin James Ellender (1842) are cousins. I have traced the family back to Thomas (1772). I can send you a list if you wish. I lost track of your Frank- Where are you now? There seem to be 2 groups of Ellenders from the UK- the Kent ones and the Norfolk ones. I know that some of ours, the Norfolk ones left for the US from around the mid 1800s. My Ggranfather, William James Ellender left for South Africa around 1900. And yes some of the Norfolk ones did go North.
I would be interested to hear from you and know where how and where Ellenders are today.
Regards
Frances
I am also searching for Cherokee info on the Ellender sisters Harriet, Martha, and Mary. Harriet was my great-great grandmother, and she was John J. McCullar's wife (He was also married to Martha, and his brother Benjamin was married to Mary Ellender). Family history says that the Ellender sisters were Cherokee, but we have nothing solid. Thanks - it's always good to find possible leads:)

Hi, Carla...just thought I'd look around for Ellenders here on the www. I am a decendant of John J. McCullar and Harriet Ellender - they were my great-great grandparents. Our family history says that Harriet may have been indian..have you heard anything like this, or do you know anything of Richard's wife? Anyway, just thought it interesting to find a remote cousin here. I do have some info on the McCullar line if you are interested. Thanks!

I have a relative named John Ellender (or Ellenor - never been able to figure out which), but doubt if it's the same person as your John.
This man was the son of Ethelbert Ellender (or Ellenor). Ethelbert was the son of James Thomas Ellender. John W. Ellender was born in 1830 in Henry County, Tenn.
I have no descendants for him; no further info except that his siblings were: Elizabeth Sexton Ellender, William F Ellender, Henry L Ellender, and Thomas Ellender and Emma Eliza (my ancestor).

Hi,
You might try usgenweb it is a web site for census and other special projects. The Ellender family married into the Amerson family and you might try typing in Amerson instead of Ellender. You may find some of your ancestors there. The Ellenders, Amersons, Bakers and McCullars were connected for quite a while I've noticed.
Ali
ali_ingle@hotmail.com
