I am looking for a Robert P Elliot. Originally born in Scotland, came to Canada in 1885 at age 14 ( with his older brother) and landed in central NYS. He married in 1900 in Jefferson County, NYS and was the son of Philip John Elliot (or John Philip Elliot) in Scotland. Robert and his wife Rose relocated to Syracuse, NY and I have him on the 1910 census in Syracuse, located him in the city directories of 1914 Syracuse as a painter/decorator of houses. After that, he disappeared and his wife remarried and moved back to central NYS. I have been looking for this Robert P Elliot born in Scotland circa 1873 for such a long time. The reason I am thinking there may be an Illinois connection is that I have found a record of a Robetr Elliot in the SS index of Illinois. Also, Robert Elliot sent for his ister Isabelle Elliot, and she endedup dying in 1919 of TB near Syracuse. In her obituary I did see that Isabell was survived by 2 brothers living in Eastwood- I wondered if perhaps this could have been Elmwood mistyped in the paper? If this may be the Elliot you are also looking for, connect with me via ancestry. Thank you!
