SHELDON ELLIOTT Sheldon M. Elliott, 83, of Henderson,Nv passed away April 4, 2009. He was born Jan. 12, 1912, in New York City, and was a 31-year resident of Nevada. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a Jewish War Veteran. "Shorty" was a Jack of all trades, with a career including sales, the casino industry and recycling. He was a loud New Yorker, strong, stubborn, generous, outrageous and well liked by all. "If you asked him what time it was, he would tell you how to build a watch." He loved coffee, cooking, solitaire, reading the paper, watching TV, his dogs and taking care of his family. He did things his way and didn't care what others thought, but we all thought the world of him. Sheldon was preceded in death by his mother, Sally Krieger-Umlauf; and his sister, Burnice Aronarwitz. He is survived by his wife, Patricia (72); his daughter, Rachel (34); sons, Levi (33) and Abraham (32); and nephews, Joel and Gary. Services will be at 10:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd., Boulder City, NV 89005. Shiva will follow at the family's home.
