Surnames: Ellis, Bryant, Woods
I am seeking information about the children of Robert Lee Ellis b Dec 1861 in Adams Co., IL. The children are: Eva b Aug 1888, Herbert b. Aug 1890, Lila/Lela b Apr 1892, Bessie b Jan 1895, and Merriam/Miriam b Jan 1900.
The mother of the children was Ethel Wood, but she is believed to have died before 1900. In 1900, Robert married Anna Bryant, who probably had a son Frank by another marriage. Robert went to Calfornia but is believed to have not taken the family. By 1930 he was clearly separated from his wife and lived with another woman in Plumas County, CA. He was estranged from his children.
Robert's brothers and sisters all came to California as well. One of his brothers, Henry Oroville, was my grandfather.
I've been able to trace Herbert to California but have not been able to locate any information on the daughters who may have remained in Illinois.
