I know this post is from 2000 but I'm hoping the account is still active. Do you know anything about which Etheldred Ellis served in the War of 1812 under Col. Adam Mc Willie's 2nd Reg. Militia that was activated October 6, 1814 in Lancaster, South Carolina. I see a lot of people who have your Etheldred Ellis as the son of Captain Henry Ellis. I have sorted where the lines crossed, but I can not figure out if the 1812 Etheldred is one of these two or a completely different person altogether.
