MUSCATINE - Iowa - Ardell L. Ellsworth, 75, of Muscatine, died Monday, April 3, 2000, at Unity Hospital in Muscatine.
Services will be at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Muscatine Community Y and can be left at the funeral home.
Mr. Ellsworth was born Feb. 24, 1925, in Atalissa, the son of Earl E. and Fanny M. Martin Ellsworth. He married Mary C. Munden on Jan. 23, 1971, in Davenport.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a Navy veteran serving as a 1st Class signalman during World War II.
He retired from Oscar Mayer after 29 years of service.
He was a member of the Muscatine Community Y.
He enjoyed music, physical fitness basketball and repairing the impossible.
Survivors include his wife, Mary, of Muscatine; two sons, Steven Ellsworth and his wife, Ann, of Letts and Michael Ellsworth and his wife, Barbara, of Marseilles, Ill.; a daughter, Jane Seligman and her husband, Gary, of Muscatine; a stepdaughter, Catherine Anne Proehl and her husband, Ron, of Davenport; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, John C. Ellsworth and his wife, Melva, of Iowa City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.

DURANT, Iowa -- Shirley A. Ellsworth, 64, Durant, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center - West Campus, Davenport.
Services are at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Durant. The Rev. Darin Lovelace will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Mabyn Fox and vocalist Henry Bentley. Pallbearers are Harvey Ellsworth, Dale Ellsworth, Tim Ellsworth, Scott Oetzel, Bill Ellsworth and Dick Ellsworth. Burial will be at the Durant Cemetery, Durant.
Visitations are at Bentley Funeral Home, Durant, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Durant Ambulance Service.
Mrs. Ellsworth was born on July 31, 1938, in Scott County, the daughter of Clyde and Bernice Lively Tague. She married Robert L. Ellsworth on July 7, 1956, in LeClaire.
She was employed at Jeff's Market, Durant.
She enjoyed camping and searching for antiques, but her grandchildren were her greatest hobby.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Lynn Oetzel and her husband, Scott, of Durant; three sons, Harvey Ellsworth of Davenport, Dale Ellsworth and his wife, Jill, of Walcott and Tim Ellsworth of Las Vegas; a grandson, Zach; two granddaughters, Megan and Stephanie; a sister, Pat Catterton of Las Vegas; five brothers, Jim Tague of LeClaire, Russell Tague of Davenport, Orlan Tague of Phoenix, Ariz., Butch Tague of Davenport and Bob Tague of Milan, Ill.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Gregory Oetzel; and two brothers, Red Tague and Bill Tague
