I am researching my maternal line . The 1790 S.C. census lists a John Elves . John would be my GGGGgrrandfather. All records from that point have the spelling as Elvis. Beyond John , I know little of this line .
Anyone care to share anything about the line or have a missing ancestor that found his way to colonial South Carolina
