ASA Mathias EMBREE entered into eternity at the home of his daughter, Rebecca Byrket in Mt. Mesa, CA., on May 5, 2006. He was born in Holyoke, Minnesota, on March 19, 1926. He enlisted in the army at the age of 18. He served in World War II under the command of General Bradley. European campaign Battle of the Bulge, Battle at Remagen Bridge & March to Berlin. He was employed by International Paper for 37 years. He was a member of the Holy name Society, VFW & Elks. Activities include church usher, Boy Scouts, VFW Chaplain and bingo caller. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles & Eliza, son, Patrick, daughters, Baby Daughter EMBREE & Shiela, brothers, Charles, Jack & Tom, sisters, Martha Reinke, Irene Randall, Agnes Longshore & Marie Baker. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Delores, of Wofford Heights, CA; sons, Robert of Fontana, CA., and James of Lake Amicon, WI; daughters, Rebecca of Mt. Mesa, CA & Sarah of Riverside, CA; daughter-in-law, Mary of Bremen, AL; brother, Joseph Benton of Finlayson, MN; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren & numerous beloved nieces & nephews. Visitation & rosary were held on Thursday, May 11, 2006, from 4:00 to 8:30 p.m. Ingold Funeral Chapel, Fontana, CA. Funeral Mass is today (Friday) May 12, 2006, at 9:30 a.m. St. George's Catholic Church, Fontana, CA. Interment: Green Acres Memorial Park.
