I am trying to learn the father's name for a John Emerson, born 1829-1830 in New York and residing in Bath, Steuben Co., NY for the 1880 census. His mother, Elizabeth, b Ireland abt 1793 is living with him along with his brother Joseph, 44 yrs old. John has married Ruhama Loghry (both names have spelling variations!) and they have 7 children in this census.
His father was also born in Ireland and I'm hoping that someone can tell me his name, and if he is related to other Emersons in that area -- There are several Loghry/Emerson marriages.
