I am having difficulty tracing my family roots. Here is the info that I have.
My father is John D. Emery (2/26/24-3/31/87), born on Staten Island, New York. His brothers, also born on Staten Island are Andrew R.(7/3/25-9/69) married Mary Pfeffer; Gerard J. (11/17/31-?); Thomas L. (7/31/34-?) married Judy ?; Raymond G. (8/19/37-199?) married Mary Hurley.
Their father was John K. Emery (8/4/00 -5/5/59), and the problem is this is probably not his legal name, married Agnes Zuntag (4/8/01-198?). I have a fair amount of information on the Zuntag side.
His father was John K. Emery, (?-8/28) who probably came from Georgia-he served in the Georgia Infantry during the Spanish-American War. His mother was Margaret Boylan (?-12/27). Both died on Staten Island.
Prior to that-nothing.
I appreciate any help that anyone can give me. It seems that this branch of the family has some kind of shroud over it. I admit I haven't gotten death certificates yet.
