Daphna A. Emhof, 89, formerly of Hamburg, N.Y., died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, in Vincentian Regency. Beloved wife for 58 years to the late Robert L. Emhof Sr.; dearest mother of Mary Ann (Art) Mayne, Robert L. (Victoria) Emhof Jr. and Cynthia (Mark) Cohen; grandmother of Renee Mitchell, Angela Tates, Jamie Mayne, Theresa (James) Held, Allison, Brian and Lisa Cohen; great-grandmother of Kaylee and Terry Tates, Cole Mitchell and Hunter and Julianna Held; sister of the late Cora, Florence, Edmund, Frances, Lottie, Sophie and Michael. Mrs. Emhof was an avid bowler, gardener and excellent seamstress. During the war years, she worked at Hewett Rubber, Buffalo, N.Y.,
and retired from the Lake Shore Library, Hamburg, N.Y. She was secretary of the Braymiller's Tuesday afternoon Bowling League. She will be remembered for her quick wit and boundless energy.
Friends received from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at GEORGE A. THOMA FUNERAL HOME INC., 10418 Perry Highway, Wexford. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Monday in Ss. John and Paul Church in the Grotto Chapel. Please assemble at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Ss. John and Paul Church Building Fund, 2586 Wexford Bayne Road, Sewickley, PA 15143.
