You are right. Because my 82 years old mother thought that Robert Emmet was our. She was wrong. She said "I have heard over the years. I told her that no way how we were born. Now my oldest sister, Audrey Hartjen Mann found out that we are descendents of Thomas Addis Emmet. And my mother wrote "Mother Margarite McMorrough O.S.U. (nun in the Ursvline order) former president of the Ursvline College, Santa Rosa, Ca. (mother cousin) did an indepth family history 45 or more years ago. I didn't think to ask to copy it. She did it through the L.S.D.C.(mormons) Salt Lake City.
