passed away May 9, 2008 at her residence of 49 years. She was born on August 20, 1921 to George and Inez Miers in Oak Park, Illinois at West Suburban Hospital. After graduating high school
she returned to West Suburban Hospital to attend their college of nursing.
At that time, women in the nursing program were not allowed to be married,
but that did not stop Janet from eloping and secretly marrying the love of her life Willis Endean on June 1, 1941. After a short honeymoon in Kahoka, Missouri she returned to school to complete her RN degree. In their early years of marriage in Illinois, Willis
and Janet had two children, David and Leslie.
Due to David's asthma,
the young family moved to the wonderful dry climate of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Their life together in Albuquerque included the birth of four more girls, Laurie, Elisabeth,
Anita, and Rachelle.
Janet's nursing career varied from working in Dr Albert Rood's family practice office and working at Memorial Hospital to volunteering for St. Martins hospitality center and teaching nursing aides for the Albuquerque Job Corps. Janet was a lifelong Jehovah's Witness and drew great comfort in her faith of the future as the Bible teaches.
Janet lost Willis on May 31, 2006
and everyone that knew her could see the great loss she suffered. Janet is preceded in death by Willis
and her son, David.
She is survived by her daughters, Leslie,
Laurie, Elisabeth, Anita,
and their extended families.
She had seven grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend special thanks to
Pat &Tim Black,
Elizabeth Pearce, Erin Burns,
and Dr. Walter and Carrie Rohloff.
