Peter Endres 1813-1866, Savannah, GA

I thought I would post this in hopes of connecting with descendants. Peter Endres arrived in Savannah in 1838 and became a baker. He married Elizabeth Henidz in 1843, and they had five children, three of whom lived to adulthood: Louis (ca 1844-1906); Elizabeth (1846-1865) who married John Schwarz; Caroline (ca 1849-1860); Georgia (1852-?) who married Cassells; and Peter (1853-1860). Peter's wife Elizabeth died in 1856 and he married 2nd Mrs. Mary (Margaret) Hoffer in 1857. She died in 1861.

Georgia Endres Cassells helped raise my grandmother Meta Lois Lindenstruth and her sister, Carrie Elizabeth (Bessie) Lindenstruth.

Peter may have been Pierre Godefroid Endres, b. 20 Jan 1813 in Hochspeyer, Pflaz, Bayern (Bavaria) to Louis Endres and Margueritte Vogt.

I came across your post doing research on my moms side. I have a book 1 of my mom's cousins wrote on the Steinberger family. It does mention Ben Endres marring a Steinberger but it did mention her first name. I don;t have any info on the Endres and if Lizzie is the Steinberger mentioned in my book then I am related to her. Her Parents would be Jacob Steinberger b.1-09-1822, Germany and Catherine Kirchower b.unknown. They married in 1853 and in 1854 emigrated to Ohio then to Victoria, MN in 1856. If sounds familiar let me know. Jacob would be my 3rd greatuncle. Have a nice day, Melisa

Martin or Matthew Endres

I am researching my ancestors and looking for someone who may have information about them. This is some of the information that I have pieced together.

Martin Endres was born in Germany in March 1870 to Matthew Endres and Margaret Schaefer. He immigrated in 1893.
He married Anna (Annie) Schaefer whose parents were Peter and Katherine
Martin and Anna had six children all born in ND - Martha, Louise, Philip, Roman, Mae, and Clarence. They lived in Wells Co. ND at least from 1898 onward.
Martin died in New Rockford, ND on February 4, 1960.
Martin's siblings that I know if are Matthew or Mathias (Matt), Catherine, Marie, Margarethe, Alice, and an unknown female.

Martin's brother, Matthew or Mathias (Matt) Endres, was born in Germany in March 1866. He immigrated in 1892. Matt married Elizabeth (Lizzie) and they had seven children all born in ND - Charles M, Katherine (Kate), Margaret, Theodore J, Mary, Therese (Anita T) and Ida A.
Matt lived in Wells Co. ND at least from 1899 through 1930. I don't know anything about when or where he died.

Thank you.
Jo
Hello!

I know this is an older post but I thought I'd take a chance!
I have Endres connections & I live in Buffalo.
Peter Purner (Puerner) married to Kunigunda Endres. The couple immigrated in 1871 (Hamburg to NY) and settled in Buffalo, NY. They became citizens and purchased a home.
I really need to connect with "cousins" as this has been a tough family to research.
As always will exchange/share info.

Many thanks, dave
Amherst, NY
Hi,

It's been many years since you posted this, so I don't know if this will reach you or if you have long since found the same information, but...

I found a picture of two Endres brothers, Godfrey and John, at the cigar factory and bottling works where they worked in Faribault, MN. The time could have been around 1895 but the citation did not say.

Photo found at http://www.kliers.net/history/faribaultpics.htm

The name of the factory was Sheeran & Filler and it was on Central Ave., not Main Street so it may not be the same company. But thought you would be interested to see the photos of two Endres brothers. Godfrey was my great-grandfather.
