Mrs. E.E. Hill, Aged Resident Died Sunday
Mrs. Elizabeth Enfield Hill, 96-year old Minnesota pioneer, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Effa Phalen, 404 Lewis Street, Sunday afternonn.
Mrs. Hill was a direct descendant of the Cromwell family in England and was a grandmother of Judge Oliver Cromwell of Coryeon Co., IN., prominent jurist.
Mrs. Hill was born near New Albany, IN, 12 Jun 1837. She came to Minnesota with her parents in 1856 and settled near Swan Lake. She was married to Horace Hill in 1865 and moved to a farm home near Cleveland, Minnesota. In 1871, they came to Mankato where Mr. Hill died. Mrs. Hill had lived here continuously since, except for three years which she spent in the west.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Effa Phalen of Mankato, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in the Kelly-Johnson-Bowman mortuary. Burial will be in Tivoli cemetery
