My ggg grandfather Henry English, Sr. (1773-1857) married an Oaks/Oakes and they lived in the Yellow Mountain area of WNC. Some say this was Rachel Oaks/Oakes while I have also heard it was a Jemima Oaks/Oakes. They had four children: William English, Daniel English, Henry English, Jr. and Gabriel English.
