It is your cousin Brenda Faye Franke (Narducci)here. I talked to your Uncle Garland before he passed and I have a boat load of information about the family tree that you may not even believe but before I post it I thought to try to verify it with our grandfathers bible.

I believe that your Aunt Ovaan Enix Sherman's wife and ...Linda's and Sharon's mother has the bible. Let us see if we can find that bible and it will show the family tree and then I will relay all the info that our Uncle Garland and told me before he passed. It may be a bit of shocker for some folks so I have never passed it one. Contact me if you want.

The William Enix I am looking for would have been born in the late 1800's. I know he did have 4 sons in Tennessee and then my father in Georgia after marrying Pearl M (Medlock or Melton - not sure). This man was a photographer and rambler... of sorts from what I have heard.
My father was Glenn E Enix and he passed away about 20 years ago at the age of 70.

my grandfather was sever burl enix, the best i know he was from somewhere near huntington, WV. i do know that he moved here before WW II, he married my grandmother, lora seabolt from edmonston cty, ky. near lindsyville, ky.

Thanks for the reply - It has been awhile since I was on this site last. My brother Daniel Dale Enix last year found a book on Enix's that traces the Enix name to Ireland. I like the Native American connection here - the more I talk to Enix folk - the more Cherokee and Creek Indian roots cross our pasts. My great grandfather's lastname was Creekmore.

I am trying to find out what happened to some old friends of my mothers. She is Alice Louise Walker, used to be Glisson. She used to be "friends" with Gene Enix when I was about 5-6 years old and she was in Tuscon Az. I just want to know if he is ok or if he has since passed on. She has been talking alot about her past lately and she sure mentions Gene more than most. She has also been talking about Lightening Cartwright from the same period. I had the chance to meet both when I was a kid. I don't wan to bother the families and if there is no response i understand. I was just doing this for my Mom.

Ohio - ENIX's

This is a great site - I stumbled upon it by googling around. I am from the Enix's in the Akron, Ohio area. My grandfather was William Otis Enix and my father is Dennis Dale Enix (Dale).

The story of the Enix name orgin has always been that it was a American Indian name - possibly Creek or Cherokee. I never have found any proof of this but there is certainly the enix root in the word Phoenix, which is commonly known as the firery bird and used to represent rebirth.

I recently was researching the ENIX family as it is related to the HEDGES family. I traced Elmo from Carter Co., KY to Oklahoma and to Tarrant Co., TX. I found also the connection to the Parham family. I believe Elmo W. Enix is the same one I was researching; however, there are some questions left unanswered. Would love to communicate with some in the Enix or Parham family. If this is the same Elmo W. Enix, I have the connection to the Hedges family.

I do believe this is the same family!
Rachel Ocie aka Ocil ( I guess) married William M. Bright.
Their son James Arthur Bright was born in 1909. What information I have came from his wife-Ruth Harmon Bright.
She wasn't quite sure of much of it but did mention Ocie had a brother Jim. "Rile" was also mentioned but she wasn't clear on who he was.
I would be willing to share what I have.

I just stumbled onto this website and saw your message. I am part of the Harlan county, KY Enix's. I have also been tring to find theorigin of the name. I discovered a town named Enix in the southern region of spain called Almeria. I e:mailed the realtor in Spain who had listed a piece of property there, he thought the name/word was either an ancient roman word or perhaps a Moorish word as it is in the area that was occupied by the Moors. I will try to send you what I have. I reciently was in contact with a lady Atty. in Genovia who is also rerearching our name. Oh, I am in St. Louis, MO

My Mother-Floy Marie Enix's father-Washington Franklin McCormick Enix had a brother named Thomas Franklin Enix. He was a Church of Christ minister. He lived in Green Forrest Arkansas,or somewhere close by that area. I attended services with him as a very small child. Can't remember much. I'll do some digging in my mother's records tho.

My grandmother's stepfather was a Enix from Tennessee. His name was Charles Enix. He died in Webster Co. WV on Oct. 12, 1958.

He was married to my g grandmother Della (Coffman, Warfield) Enix. Della and Charles had children Clarence (deceased)buried in WV, Paul (deceased) buried in OH, Hazel (living), and Imogene (living).

Della had 3 children by a previous marriage Harold Warfield (deceased) buried in TN, Leonard (Warfield) Enix. Leonard used the name Enix(Leonard is deceased and buried in TN) and my grandmother Edith (Warfield) she used the name Enix. Grandmother Edith is 87 years old and lives in Webster Co. WV.

I don't know much...I know he married a lady in Sparta Tn and had 4 children. He left there and went to Ga. Date of birth approx. 1887. I think he may have been a photographer. He walked away from Ga after marrying there and having one son. I don't know where or when he died or is buried. I know Enix is the correct spelling - I was told we are of Swedish decent.

Do you have any dates for William Enix? My mother was an Enix and was from Scott county , Va. I have cousins in Michigan, Florida and California, so there are several Enixes out there. Also, you need to look at other spellings that sound the same, ex, Enochs. My mother moved to Sullivan County, TN when she was very young.

Can you give me a little more to go on your Enix family? I am searching William Riley Enix and James Buck Enix families in Campbell and Anderson counties, TN. There was an Ocil Enix that married a William Bright, 1907 in Anderson Co., TN.
My William Riley and his brother, James Buck Enix' Mother, was Rachel Jane "Jane" Green Enix, who married James F. Spicer. Could these possibly be your family also.

I sent you an e-mail but your earthlink popped up with an automatic response, saying that I could not send your message, or something like that.
Anyway. I have searched all afternoon for Ocie/Ocle. In the marriage record, she is an Enix. I have just started to work on this Enix line, so I don't even know which Enix she belongs to. I would love to have your information on the family, but all that I have to share with you, is the children of William Riley Enix. I have the list of his children, and just a few of his daughter-in-laws names. William Riley Enix also had a brother, James B. Enix. William lived in Campbell Co., TN. and James lived in Anderson Co., TN. This is about all that I have right now. I do know a little about their father, and William and James had a 1/2 brother, Scott Spicer. I have his children also, that I got off a census.
I would like to hear from you.
