Where the Scottish connection came in is anyone's quess. The original Enloe's where from the Netherlands. I have done research for years and there is no doubt in my mind. The problem with researching the name is that until 1800 the Dutch had no formal last name to attach to a family, 2 brothers could have completely last names. The last name is an English thing since back to 1066 and the first census taken there.
If anyone doubts the Dutch connection just go to Holland and look at the people there. My daughter went and said if she stayed there no one would ever find are her brothers.
Also if Hendrick was of the British Isle's he would not have to have been natualized which he was.
