Hi, well I don't know, but for sure we are not talking about the same John Enns. My great uncle was born in 1938, married a Darlene Sivits, and died in 2008. Unfortunately I don't know much about the earlier generations of the family, but luckily it looks like you hit the jackpot by meeting your cousin!

Hi Larry. I don't think you are related to the person you sent a message to. You are, however, related to me, Paul Thiessen. Your dad and my mother, Margaret, were brother and sister. I am very involved in genealogy and have done a complete Enns book going back to 1773. If your interested, e mail me at pthiessen@sympatico.ca.
Your cousin
PaulThiessen

Maybe I am related. John Abram Enns is my late father who was born in Steinbach, Manitoba in 1931. He married Hedwig C, Friesen, died in 1989 in Florida.

Hey, have you heard of a Peter Enns and his wife Sara Friesen? They were born in Sparau, Russia in 1899/1900 and 1903, respectively, and immigrated to Canada in 1925. Their first son Henry was born in 1926 in Naco, Alberta. Then came Agnes, Jake, Abe, Karl, Peter. My grandma Lena was born 1937 in Tofield, Alberta. She had one younger brother John. At some point the family moved to Abbotsford, B.C.

I think Frank & Maria are my g.g. grandparents. He did marry again after Maria passed to Elizabeth, who was Maria's sister. hmmmm.... I haven't been able to go any further than Frank & Maria. Just this evening, I was looking at photos of Great Uncle Aron & Great Uncle Jake. Did you know we have a relative they called '2 Gun Pete'? He apparently thought he lived in the wild west and carried 2 pistols and had a shot out with the cops. Looking forwar to hearing from you.
Lynne

I need help! If you can , that would be great. My great-grandmother was Maria Enns Thiessen Fehr. She was born in Southern Manitoba on May 1, 1884. I don't know who her parents are or who any siblings were. She married Heinrich Thiessen(Henry) in 1904. They married and lived their lives near Swift Current. He died in 1935. She remarried and lived in or near Herbert the rest of her life. She died in July of 1984. We are having a reunion of the Heinrich and Maria Family next summer and I would love to have information on her family.

Hi, I'm not sure if they're is a connection. I am at a loss for where to find the roots of my great-grandmother. There are very few Enns families of the age that could have been parents to her. My G-Grandma was Maria Enns Thiessen Fehr. She was born May 1, 1884 in Southern Manitoba. She married my Grandfather Heinrich(Henry)Thiessen in 1904. They lived their entire lives in the area of Swift Current, SK. He passed away in 1935 and she remarried a Fehr. She died 2 months after her 100th birthday in 1984. I am hoping that perhaps our roots may be similar?? That would be great. I do know that Frank(aka Franz) was also married to Maria's sister Elisabeth. Not sure who was married first. That info is on the MMHS website. Hope to hear from you soon.
Juanita.

I know this was posted a while back, but I just found this site. I saw your message about Elsie Enns. My Grandma's name was Elsie Enns. She was born Elsie Unruh to John and Sarah Unruh. She had two older sisters at the time, Susie and Emma. Two more sisters and a brother were born later. She was born on Nov. 15, 1912 in Reedley, Calif. My sweet grandma died on March 20th 1993. If this sounds like the Elsie you are looking for please let me know, our family would be more than happy to help you. There are hundreds of Ennss around this area and I'm sure some of your relatives are here even if I'm not one of them. You can call me too, (559)638-8768.

Judi

Mary Enns

Hello Shelley - In the GRANDMA database (1997 vol.2) there is a listing for Mary Enns. It shows her marriage producing one child, Vernon Eugene Warkentin, born on 7/16/1924. He married Betty Strever on 12/25/1945. They had 4 children; John Jacob, Sandra Gail, Shelly JoAnn and Randall Clark all born in Dinuba, California. It shows 5 generations up from Mary, ending with Johann Enns born 7/24/1741, married to Judith Konrade, and they produced 7 children. Hope this is some information you may not have known yet.
Enns relation to Elsie Enns

Hi Julie - I have a database of people whose
ancestral lines can be traced to Mennonite
communities in Poland and Russia. The
acronymn for it is GRANDMA. I looked up Elsie
Enns and there are 3 listed within it. If you
could give me a little more information on
her, I can determine whether or not one of
these 3 is who you are looking for. Things
like date of birth, town/state of birth,
name of spouse children, parents name, etc.
are helpful. I live in Wichita, KS and have
many relatives around this area. My home
phone is 316-681-0238 if needed.
Good luck! Eric Enns

I am in search of any information on Aron Enns, born around 1810 and his wife Anna Braun, born around 1810 as well. I don't believe that either of them came to canada. I do know that they had 2 children:1) Aron, born Nov 12, 1842, married Susanna Ewert 2) Anna, born Oct 10, 1836, married Johann Wolf. Both children came to Canada. Any information on any of the mentioned people would be greatly appreciated.

Susan Pelchat

Enns family book

My grandfather George Enns was born in Russia. His mother was Agnes Flaming and his father was Gerhardt Enns. They left Russia during the Bolshevik Revolution. They were Mennonites and refused to go to war. They escaped Russia with the family Bible and a history book of the Enns family. The books were very dear to my grandfather, always passed from oldest son to oldest son in the Enns family. My great-grandfather risked his life to save these books In the 1970's - 1980's my grandfather travelled to Reedley, Calif. to visit other Enns family members and loaned the history book to one of them. He never got it back and died not able to pass it on to his oldest son. If someone from the Enns family in Reedley is willing to return the book to its rightful heirs it would be greatly appreciated. My grandfather tried to find it but failed before he died. We are hoping the Reedley Enns family is as honest and humble as my grandfather was. The rightful heir is Edward Enns in Chico, Calif. His email address is eenns34825@aol.com Please help us find this lost treasure.
Terry Enns MacDevitt brimac5@charter.net
