hi -
Ben Ensley is my 2nd great grandfather, born 4/16/1830 Harmony Twownship Warren County NJ. He and Jacob were brothers. Brothers wre William of St Joseph Mich, John of Oxford Mich and Jacob of Ensley Township at the time of Bens death. Ben went to Calif and struck gold & then settled in Michigan. He bought 600 acres from the goverment. His brothers followed. Ben founded Ensley Township (Center) in Newaytgo go Michigan. Ben died there. My family and I are looking for the parents names. We have hit a dead end so far. I did find out that all records from Warren County from 1830 and earlier are part of Sussix County (NJ) Warren County separated later in 1820's.
My family is still in Grand Rapids, (prob hundreds of Ensleys)My grandfather was also Ben. They all looked alike.
The family resemblance is remarkable.

Research Ensley Center and there is a book called Pioneer Parade that tells you history of the family.
The orignal Windmill that was next to family home in Center is now with a woman in Michigan, my cousin is trying to have her donated back to the family center.
my emaill is bobbi.henry@effem.com . I can get you connected to the family in Michigan if you are interested. They are doing our family tree now. 2/12/2008
