The Abraham and William ENSLOW named in the will of William MILLER were half-brothers of our David ENSLOW.
Abraham ENSLOW, b. ca. 1760's, lived in Juniata Co., PA and md. Marguerita DOBBS, d.o. Thomas DOBBS and Janet MAHAFFY. John DOBBS ENSLOW, a son of Abraham and Marguerita, later md. Sarah Louisa (Eliza) ENSLOW, d.o. David ENSLOW in Sangamon Co., IL.
William ENSLOW, b. ca. 1760's, later added a "d" to his name---making it ENDSLOW and his descendants have mostly continued that spelling. William lived in Mifflin Co., PA and md. Isabella SIMISON.
David ENSLOW, the youngest of the three, was probably b. in the late 1760's. He had a different mother than Abraham and William, but evidently the same father.....so far, this father's first name is unknown to me. David's mother, widow of ___?___ ENSLOW, then md. James BEHAM, a Rev. War soldier and lived in Finley Twp., Washington Co., PA.
James BEHAM had been md. before also and had two sons by his 1st wife (whoever she was). He was also widowed when he md. David's mother who may have been the Hannah who joined James BEHAM when he sold his land in Wash. Co., PA and moved to the part of Muskingum Co., OH which later fell into Guernsey Co.. BEHAM had received a land grant of 100 acres there which was patented to him in 1801. David ENSLOW also moved there with the BEHAMs and operated an inn and tavern along the newly made National Road. He later moved to Scioto Co., OH (along the Ohio River) and then moved to Logan Co., IL. He md. Rachel VIRGIN, d.o. Rezin VIRGIN and Jemima ARNOLD of Wash. & Fayette Co., KY and Greenup Co., KY, and they had a large family.
In my active research over the past 39 years, I have obtained extensive information on these ENSLOW families. Most of it has been filmed by the Family History Library in Utah and the films are available to order and read at any of their branch libraries all over the world.
I welcome correspondence on the EN(D)SLOW and BEHAM families.
