George Donald Ensminger Sr. passed away in Paris Texas, August 17th, 2006 at 1:25 P.M. He was 72 years of age. Born on March 16, 1934 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Lawrence and Willie Mae (Sircy) Ensminger.
George was a graduate of OSU in Stillwater Oklahoma and recieved his degree of Bachelor of Science in Engineering in June of 1958.
He married Bernice Virginia Sheppard in Ada, Oklahoma on July 7th of 1958. They celebrated their 48th anniversary this July 7th, last.
After serving in offices in Bristow, Oklahoma where he was Director and Project Engineer, then in Ada, Oklahoma where he was Director of the office there as Project Engineer, he came to Hugo, Oklahoma in 1971 and remained there until his death.
He was Area Engineer in Hugo,Oklahoma from 1971 to 1989 and designed over Three hundred flood control dams in Eastern and Central Oklahoma during his career. He was Consulting Engineer for the Oklahoma Agricultural Conservation Commission for six years . He retired from there in 1996 He is survived in death by his wife, Bernice, of the home. , One daughter Denise Smith, of Boswell,Okla. One son, George Donald Ensminger Jr. of Fort Collins, Col. and two grand sons Dalton and Cole Smith of Boswell, Oklahoma , one step grand son Justin Dove of Las Vegas, Nev. A sister Gwen Tilly and a brother J. Ensminger. He had a number of neices and nephews and cousins. He will not be forgotten. We miss you very much and long to hear your voice.
