looking for connectons between the Emanuel Ensminger family and Pennsylvania Ensminger. Emmanuel's widow, Catherine, is in the 1840 census of Equality, Gallatin Co, Illinois.

Their children in 1860:

Benjamin Franklin Ensminger, age 45 in Crab Orchard twp, Williamson Co, Illinois, with wife ES age 29 and daughter FEJ age 2. Same family in 1870, BF (looks like BT) age 56, wife Elizabeth age 39 and children Frances, age 12, Jane, age 8, Edward age 5 and Eliza age 3.

Stephen D Ensminger, age 39, 1860 in Shawneetown, Gallatin Co, Illinois with wife Lucresia, age 22, living in home of Lucresia's father, Stirling Anders. In 1870, they are living in Equality, Gallatin Co, (not very far away): Stephen, age 52, farmer, wife Elizabeth (?) age 37 and daughter Julie A, age 2.

Mother Catherine Ensminger, age 65 in 1860, living in Marion, Williamson Co, Illinois, in the home of her son-in-law, IM (Isaac) Lewis, age 36, a druggist and dentist, his wife, Eliza V (Ensminger) age 36, their son Decatur, age 2. Also Catherine's son (and Eliza's brother) John A, age 29, whose occupation is listed as constable.

In 1870, John, age 42, is still in Marion, Illinois, but has moved out of his brother - in - law's house, is married to a Patsy and has daughters Fell? age 8 and Heannah age 1. (I think this is Hannah, in 1900 there is a Hannah Simmons, b. Jan 1869 who is living in Marion with her nephew, Champ Ensminger, age 2)

I think another child is Julie Ann, who married James R. Hudgins in 1848. The Illinois marriage data base has her last name as "Ensmings" but there is not a family with that name, only "Ensminger". Julie and James are in the 1860 and 1870 census of Eldorado, Saline Co, Illinois, which is only 7 miles away from Equality and right close to Williamson Co also. Julie is widowed but still is living in Eldorado in the 1880 and 1900 census.
