Hi Chudleigh

Looking through the information that I have on the Ensors, the other connection with Scotland is Amelia's sister, Mary Ensor. She was another daughter of William ENSOR and Tabitha (nee SHEW). She was born in Bath and baptised 7 Dec 1804 at Sherborne, Dorset. She married William MURRAY in August 1822 (I'm not sure exactly where, but the marriage was announced in the Bristol Mercury). In 1841, she was living with her brother William. She died 13 Jan 1887 at Heathfield, near Annan, Scotland.

The Ensors were a Dorset family, at least for several earlier generations. Amelia's father, William was born in Sherborne, Dorset, where his father, John, was a collarmaker. John's father (also John) was a butcher in Dorchester. The butcher's father was another John Ensor, who was a clothier in Dorchester and would have been born around the 1680s.

I'll keep thinking and checking through my records!

Cheers

Steve
