I am trying to trace my husband's family. His father died when he was 13, so we don't have much connection with the Ent side of the family. I really want our children to know about their ancestors.
I'm looking for the ancestors of Harry Ent who lived in Indiana. I think he may have been the son of Samuel Ent and Loisa C. Rhodes, but I'm not sure. He is my husband's grandfather. He has three children--Harry, Jr.(deceased), William, and Claire Mae. If anyone knows any more about this branch of the Ent family or how I can find out more, please let me know! I don't know much at this point!

Otho Ent/Lydia Lambright descendants

I'm interested in corresponding with any descendants of Otho Ent b. 6/21/1814 d. 9/16/1882 and Lydia Lambright b. 1/04/1816 d. 12/4/1892. They moved from Fredericksburg, MD to Ohio in the mid-1800s.

One of their children was my GG Grandmother Sophia Julia Ent Green, who died in Morrisville, OH in 1932. She was born in Fredericksburg 3-2-1850. Our family has possession of several very old photos of people we cannot identify but believe are tied into this line somehow.

Norman C. Ent of Milan, Indiana in Ripley County was killed February 11, 1945, in the South Pacific during World War II.

He is officially listed as missing or buried at sea. His name appears on the “Tablets of the Missing” at the Manila American Cemetery in the Philippines. We are seeking information regarding his military and civilian life.

I am a retired Hoosier from Madison County residing in the Philippines with my Filipino wife. We are seeking family and military information about servicemen from your county killed in the South Pacific during World War II. There are 17,206 Americans buried here and thousands more that are missing or buried at sea and are honored on the “Tablets of the Missing”. My wife and I visited the cemetery as visitors and left with a mission in our heart. We have been taking photographs of the graves of the Indiana servicemen buried here and have been uniting them (at no charge) with their family members in Indiana and across the United States. To receive the photo of your family member, neighbor or friend all you need is a working email address. We do not send them to regular mailing addresses due to the costs. Please help us find the families of the men that might still be living. Our project is only successful because of teamwork and your contributions are noted on our website. If you wish to help us we will be pleased to add your name to our ACKNOWLEDGMENT page on the website. The obituaries usually did not appear till to three months after the death date.

If you are not a genealogist you can help by just picking up the telephone directory and find someone with the same last name and give them a call. It has worked many times for us.

After finding a marrige index showing that Mary Elizabeth Mackey married Davis Ent 13 May 1852 in Andrew Co., MO, I looked at 1860-70-80 Andrew Co. MO census of this family. The 1860 census has his name indexed as Davis Eno. The 1870 census shows Davis Ent and the 1880 census is David Ent.

Samuel Ent and Louisa Rhodes are my ancestors through their daughter Agnes Ent Brown. I am eager to learn all I can about this branch of my family tree. gathering to place veteran marker on Charles Ent's grave

Charles Ent was a Major in the War of 1812. When I was visiting his grave, I noticed there was no veteran marker. I have one and plan to place it on his grave Nov. 11, 2003 (Veteran's Day). He is buried at the New London Cemetery in Shandon, Butler Co., OH. Anyone interested, is welcome to meet me there at 10 am. It would be nice to have a group of descendants there. Charles Ent was my 5th great grandfather.

I too most likely descend from Valentine. I have my proof through the son John 1766-1850. The only source I know of for Valentine/Susannah Mohr/Moore has been the Mohr/Moore Book by George Moore & Shirley M. Barnes. Does anyone know if they sited a Bible or accounting to get the list of Children assigned to Valentine & Susannah?
I have collected ALOT of material on the Ents that remained in Hunterdon Co. So if I can help anyone please let me know.

Jeni, I haven't heard back from you about our meeting at the Railroad Inn. I hope nothing is worry with you or your loved ones. Things have been hectic around here. One of our little grandsons has been in the hospital. He is 6 years old. He was a premmie and it seems like nothing is ever easy for him. He went in to have his tonsils taken out and was there for 5 days. He had a hard time breathing, so he had to be on oxygen for several days. He is home now and doing better.

I ordered a CD from Family Tree Maker and have found alot of information about the Ents. I'll be glad to share it with you.

Please let me know about us getting together
as I am really looking forward to it.

Hi Everyone, I have been working on tracing the Ent family roots. Since Ent is such an unusual name and people always ask about the nationality, I decided to see if I could locate where the Ent orginated.

Well, this is what I have come up with. Johan Theobald Ent(Endt) was born in Berne, Switzerland about 1680-81 and died Sept. 7, 1765-67 in Germantown, Pa. He married Sibbila Stratton. She was born Around 1694 and died 1790-1808 in Germantown, Pa. They had 5 children. Their son Theobald was the father of Charles who married Mary Johnson.

Charles and Mary left Pa. and migrated to Shandon, in Butler Co. Ohio. One of their sons was Samuel who was married to Sarah Davis. Samuel and Sarah had a son named Charles (1820-1892). He married Mary Austin. They had 9 children. They leaft Ohio and settled in Ripley Co., In.

Charles and Mary's oldest son, William was born in 1850. He married Emma Raney and had three children Luther, George and Nettie. My grandfather was George who lived his whole life in Ripley Co. He was a farmer and deputy sherrif.

George was married to Clara B. Williamson and they had 5 sons. My father was Norman, who was killed in WWII.

I've been trying to document my family tree on & off for 20 years. My gr grandfather was Walter George Ent born in Milan, Ripley Co, Indiana 19 May 1877.... His father was William Ent b 31 Mar 1857 in Ohio Co, Ind. Can't read his mother's name on the death cert,,, maybe a Hattie Hele? Anyway...
Whatever happened to THIS William from Milan? I know we're all related but I can't prove anything for my OWN line.
