Entlers in Shepherdstown VA/WV

I have information on the Entler/Endler/Andler family of Shepherdstown WV. My grandfather James E Barnhart was born in Shepherdstown and I have about 7 generations worth of Entler information. I am interested in filling in some blanks on siblings to my ancestors. Ancestors include Philip Adam Entler Jr Sr, Daniel Entler, Mary Ann Entler.

Martin Luther Entler was born in Shepherdstown, West Virginia in early 1800's. He married Elizabeth Beecher Herr who was from Williamsport, Maryland. They had a daughter Laura May Herr or Beecher born May 10, 1864 in Bridgeport, Maryland. Laura died July 23,1933 in California.

Any info you have on Martin Luther Entler would be great.

Jack Entler wanted for flight to avoid prosecution for murder. Born in 1916 in chicago IL. His wife was Florine Lee Curtis belived to be traveling with him at the time.

I believe I am related to the Shepardstown, VA Entler's My father is Clarence Orren Entler b. Nov 3, 1941 His parent's were Trinsey Levi Entler b.Nov 13, 1914 d. April, 1987 HIs wife is Mildred Lucille Entler, Surname Kinnison. Trinsey's father Virgil Leroy Entler b. 1892 d. 1953, my great -grandfather. Do you have any info on Virgil, like who his parents were etc, I come to a brick wall when it come to him.I would like to compare info with you. Obituary for Margaret Entler (nee Gaeiss) - wife of Philip Adam Entler

From "York County, Pennsylvania Church Records of the 18th Century" compiled by Marlene S. Bates and F. Edward Wright:

"Margaret Entler, born March 13, 1715, daughter of the late Michael Geiss, a shoemaker of Lidolsheimin Durlach, and his wife Rosina. She came to Pennsylvania in 1738 without her parents and married on April 10, 1739, Philip Entler, who survives. They had 6 sons and 3 daughters, of whom 5 sons and 2 daughters are living. After ten days sickness of feverish chills, she died at 4 AM, November 21, 1762 and was buried November 22, 1762 in our churchyard."

and died March 8, 1921. He married Emma Florence
Ambrose born Feb. 5, 1860 in Berkeley Springs,
West Virginia and she died on June 26, 1940 in
Washington D.C. David and Emma had a daughter
Emma Florence Entler born in Sheperdstown,
West Virginia and died on Oct. 20, 1962 in
Washington D.C. She was married to Clifford

I am looking for any Entlers who might be desended from John Entler b. Abt 1825, from Camargo, Illinois, married to Albatean Smith b. Abt 1829, with a son Thomas 1851-1938, married to Mary Catherine Moomau 1852-1910. I am also looking to see if anyone has anything more about John and Albatean, where they came from, their family, etc.Ive got a lot, but still a lot of holes here and there.

FYI - I just looked at another source for my Shepherdstown Entlers - that source has a slightly different lineage for me than my original source (which was my Aunt). I believe I had confirmed my original data. But now I'm a little unsure. So just FYI, my previous postings on Michel Entler, son Phillip Sr, and son Phillip Jr, might be incorrect. Although all those persons did exist. It's possible my ancestory comes down through Michel, son Phillip Sr, then his son Micheal born 1740. I will be double checking --Karen Cooke keacooke@aol.com

Entler Hotel Shepherdstown

For any who may be interested. The web site for the Entler Hotel aka Shepherdstown Museum is www.intrepid.net/~hsc/museum.html
The site has a link to the chronology of the hotel which is very interesting. The hotel was known as the Entler Hotel as it was onced owned by Daniel Entler grandson of Philip Adam Entler,Sr. I also have a copy of the CD that can be purchased from West Virginia on Jefferson County. The CD has information about the hotel as well.
