My husband's grandfather was Edward Shedore who married Lillian Carter and lived in Escanaba. Their daughter Dorothy Pearl married Earl Guimond - my father-in-law. My daughter Susan Guimond was named for Susan Mary. In fact, when our daughter was a newborn we took her to see Susan Mary in South Gate.

to be honest I'd have to talk to my gramps again the only name he gave me was his gramps and that was John. However, he did tell me to go to the mormon site. So, I did guess what they had several catherines there. But, there was one that was born in 1958. This might be your catherine. The site is www.mormon.com and then click to family history. It's pretty cool it has like 64 different entringers and when they were married and such. My gramps also told me there was a guy in Wisc. that has traced the family back quite a ways, he was gonna get me his number. As far
as where Van Croft is I don't know I couldn't find it either. But it could be close to Dubuque because my gramps said it was close to the Wisc. side cuz his dad Nicholas was born in Wisc. So we may have something here. I'm not sure how far you've traced back, I'm just getting started not knowing much about our history it's tough, although I finally got some info from my gramps which was cool. Well, I don't know if this has been any help to you at all. But, I'm trying. But, do try that mormon site (if you haven't already) cuz it's pretty cool.

thank for trying to help. I did try to find Van Croft Iowa on the map. Was that maybe a township? Was it in the vicinity of Dubuque? That's where the little townof St.Donatus is located. The father of the Regenwether that she married came from Luxembuorg too. They immigrated between 1852 and 1854. If there were 4 Entringer boys that came over, there might be a clue. Could you shaare those names?thanks

I spoke to grandfather the other day he told me that he was born in Van Croft (sp?) Iwoa. But that he doesn't recal
the name of a catherine, his name is maynard. He also said that his grandfather came over here from Luxenburg (sp?) That they
some sort of ruling family there he was disinherited for coming here. He said that there were actually 4 boys that came over.
He also said that this occured in the mid 1800's. Also, he has a book called the New World of Entringers. He tried to look up
catherine, but it didn't go back that far. But, maybe it could be some help to you. He said it was a copyright of Halburt family
heritage. Well, I hope some of this info is some use to you.

As far as I can tell there is no connection between Catherines. But I run in to a stone wall on Our Catherine's ancestor's.
I am the Great grandson of Catherine John. I know Catherine's father was Michael, but this is all I have on the Entringer. I am also looking for any information on the Entringer family. Contact me at fmregen@iowasocean.com.
