Alice was the brother of my great grandfather Thomas J Entwisle. Their parents were likely John and Margaret. Thomas J married Christina F. Peyton(sp), and had a daughter, Hazel (my grandmother) and 4 other children, Harry, Margaret, Mabel, and Robert W. My mother, Christina E. McKone was Hazel's daughter with Sylvester MacMahon McKone. I am an Entwisle grand child of 2 generations -- in MI.

Any info on Christina Entwisle married to Thomas J Entwisle would be appreciated. They had 5 children, Hazel, Mabel Margaret, Robert W and Harry. Please advise. They lived in Dundee MI. Also, need info on what happened to Thomas J -- no info after 1900 census. Christina was with the Hazel McKone in Wyoming then the Burroughs in Dundee, then Harry and Gladys in Detroit. Where did they go? Much appreciated.

I may be a bit confused, but the 1930 census shows that Robert W Entwisle (34 years, b 1895 d?) was the father of Robert E (b 1921? d?), Margaret, Jacques Thomas, and Jene M (2-3 years old b. 1927ish).

The census and other docs show that Madge Cook was married to Robert W not Robert E. Not sure who Robert E was married to -- who was Jene M married to?

There was a Madge Cook married to Robert Entwisle son of Thomas J Entwistle and Christina F. (Payton (sp)). I am their great grandaughter -- Sheila McCoy, my grandmother was Robert's brother Hazel Entwisle who married Sylvester Mac Mahon McKone (Mack McKone) Wyoming and then married William H Carr who disappeared when Hazel died in 1924 shortly after birth of Jr.

See McKone Family Tree

Were Robert and Harry's parents Thomas J Entwisle (entwistle) and Christina. Lots of misspellings on Entwistle/Entwistle. The 1900 Census for the family in Dundee MI spells it Entmeisle or Entweisle, but it was really Entwistle or Entwisle. The census shows it was written very poorly.

My grandmother, Hazel Entwisle, was Robert and Harry's sister.
Thanks for replying

Hi, my name is Sheila McCoy, Lansing MI. Mother was Christine E McKone (Brown & McCoy). Her mother was Hazel Entwisle daughter of Thomas J Entwisle & Christina F. Entwisle (Payton). My grandmother Hazel died in 1924 of anesthesial pneumonia buried in Saginaw MI. The Entwisle lived in Dundee and then Wayne -- Siblings are Robert (Madge), Harry (Gladys), Mabel (Johnston marr.) and Margaret. I never had met any as my grandmother Hazel died and my mother and her new half brother William H Carr Jr. were sent out to other families. GGrandmother Christina went to live with the Burroughs family in Dundee, and then with Harry and Gladys (I only recently found this out on ancestry.com). Thomas J died at some point -- don't know when. Thanks for any info

In last email I meant maternal, not paternal, but that is sort of disconnected as well. My mother did not have much contact with her mother (Hazel's) family after they divorced and her death.

Thank you so much, I am very very heart-felt about this.
Sheila

Just to confirm and clarify

my gmother was Hazel Entwisle sister of Robert W, Harry, Mabel, and Margaret. Mother -- Christina, Father, Thomas J. Entwisle. Robert E of course was your dad? and son of Robert W.

I knew no one, but my mother told me the story. Was not sure it was true or accurate. Does anyone have info on Christina Entwisle (Payton or Peyton).

I cannot tell you how grateful I am to make this connection. As I have no family on my mother's side paternal grandparents, uncles, etc.

McKone family disconnected from Hazel and then she died -- sort of left in the lurch.
Blessings
Sheila McCoy

Hi Sue,
My grandfather is Dewayne Aspenwall and his mother was Margaret Entwisle. I think I have the marriage record for Robert and Madge somewhere here. Do you know anything about Robert's parents Thomas and Christine? In 1900 the family is living together in Michigan and I know where Christine is in 1920 and 1930 but in 1910 I can't find her and her kids are elsewhere. Do you know where she is or what happened?

Searching for a one William Entwisle/Entwistle from England who was caught & convicted of forging a one pound note. In 1819 he was sentenced to 14 years of hard labour in Australia. The only information I have on this chap is that he was christened about 1794 in Edgeworth Lancaster England. He received his TOL here in Australian and went on to have married 2 times and produced 9 children. Towards the end of his life, he became a well known figure in Parramatta NSW before dying in 1864 at the age of 71 years. Can anyone help me?

Regards
Karen Mihaly - Perth WA

I don't know how much I can help, but here is what I can contribute: My father is Melvin Entwisle of Alexandria, Virginia. He has 2 brothers, William F Entwisle Jr. and Edward R Entwisle (deceased 2008) and 5 sisters, *(married name) Patricia (Finney)(deceased 2006), Lois (Stanley)(deceased 2007), Betty Rosalie (Wheadon), Susie Entwisle, and Martha (Tucker)(deceased 2002). Their father (my grandfather) is William F Entwisle (born 1912), only son of William Burton Entwisle and Mary Elton Entwisle (Cockrell). I know that William Burton's father was Frank, but am having a problem making a connection past that. Who are his siblings? Who was Frank's wife, and who were their parents? Can anyone help?

I've traced back to James Entwisle, Sr. who was born in 1796 in Bolton, Lancashire, England and came to the U.S. in 1806. I've been able to find a lot of information on him but don't know who his parents are for sure. He was a prominent citizen & church member in Alexandria. His son James, Jr. was the first druggist in the family having a shop in Alexandria. I've got a lot of info on this family and would be happy to exchange information with others of the same family.
I have been trying to trace any info regarding Rachel L Gatley Entwistle - daughter of Thomas and Jemima. According to 1871 census Rachel was born in Frankford which I think may be in New York. No details of her father, Thomas, as he is not shown on the census. Wondering if Thomas died in US or maybe stayed there when family returned? Does anyone know anything about this family? Jemima originally from Cheshire, England. Thomas possibly Lancashire.
Thanks Jan
