Thanks for the information re: William Warren. Just last month, I got information from a cousin, who told me the correct name. He also included information that traced the Entzmingers to Peter Ansminger who died in Richland County in 1789. However, you had more family information that I enjoyed receiving. I have actually been to Sandy Levels but didn't know much about the family at that point. Do you know anything about Peter Ansminger or earlier generations? If you would like the information about the generations between William and Peter, please e-mail me at fholcombe@comcast.net. Thanks again. Faith

Thanks for your information. From a cousin, I recently got information that led me to William Warren, but you had a lot of additional information regarding him and the family. I have been able to trace him back to Peter Ansminger who died in Richland County in 1789, but then hit a blank. If you would like that information, I would be happy to send it. If you have information about Peter, I would appreciate knowing it. My e-mail address is fholcombe@comcast.net. Many thanks.
Re: Entzmingers in SC

Warren Entzminger of Blythewood, S. C., is William Warren Entzminger. He was born about 1835 to Frederick Entzminger, Jr and had several brothers and sisters. He attended Furman College in the 1850's (his Uncle Christian Entzminger and then Cousin Samuel Bookhart were trustees of that institution.) He served in the 12th SC Volunteer Infantry during the War Between the States. After the war he was a surveyor, planter, and lumberman. He also served for a time as a Trial Justice (Magistrate) for Upper Township of Richland County. His wife predeceased him in the 1890's and he eventually entered the Confederate Soldiers Home in Columbia where he died January 1, 1915. He and his wife (and many relatives) are buried at Sandy Level Baptist Church, Blythewood, S. C.
