I am the great grandson of Andrea Gabriel (1823-1916) & Leonarda(1826-1879) (Maiden name Gerba?)Sorgi. They had several sons. My grandfather was Gabriel. My PAPA's brother was Guiseppi Sorgi(1883-1948). His wife was Elena Kirmes (1883- 1970). Leonardo aka Rob Sorgi was their son.

This is helpful to me.

Your great grandfather is Andrea & Leonarda Sorgi. Your grandfather is Guiseppi Sorgi. Guiseppi is your grandmothers Husband.

Death of James Enwright.
The many friends of this estimable young man will regret to hear of his death
which occurred at the residence of his mother, No. 45 Summer Street,
Wednesday forenoon. Deceased was attacked with chills about a week ago, and
typhoid fever ensued with the fatal result. He was a plumber by trade, and
was for many years in the employ of T. R. Garity & Co. He recently, in
conjunction with Mr. Farrell, started in business for himself, and the future
was full of bright promise. Mr. Enwright was 28 years of age, and was
prominent in all the charitable works which are carried on under Catholic
auspices. He was a member of the committee of St. Peter's orphan asylum, the
committee of St. John's hospital and the Young Men's Catholic Library
association. He was a young man of kindly disposition and excellent
character, who knew few enemies and many friends. The funeral will occur at
his late residence, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.

Elena Kirmes (my grandmother) was Victor Kirmes' daughter. He was the Melrose City Clerk in the early 1900's. Elena was a famous opera singer who traveled around the world at the turn of the century and also sang in the White House for President Wilson and his wife and daughter in 1914. She married Guisepe Sorgi who was also an opera singer from Rome.

I don't know much about Hannah Enright but I believe that Hannah Enright and Victor Kirmes were my great grandparents. I'm not sure. My father was Leonard Sorgi who's mother was Elena Kirmes. Victor & Hannah's daughter.

I have been resarching James Wright Larkin(s) parents for more than 8 years now.

His application for a SS card says his mother was Mary Wright and his father was James Larkin and he was born 23 Mar 1881. This is the info I have using for my search...

Today I find his DOB as 23 Mar 1887 on a employment record for the RR in Minnesota. Hmmmmmmmm.

Yet on his death cert it says his father was James larkin(s) and mother was Anne ENWRIGHT! Hmmmm!

Sooooooooo now I am searching for Anne (Mary) ENWRIGHT who married a James Larkin(s) and Lived in Cambridge, Middlesex, MA USA., either 1881, 1883 or 1887! and had a daughter Muad.

Any suggestion would be welcomed! I thank you for your time!

thank you for posting this marriage information. It confirms some of my information re the En(w)right family. A Mary Enright married my ggrandfather Joseph Antonia in Wentworth County, East Flamborough about 1850s. Please contact if any connectiion. Will share.

Hello Virginia,

I do believe our families may meet. I believe my great-great granfather Timothy Enwright made the crossing in the early to mid 1800's from Ireland, since he was born, according to my information, at about 1803 in Ireland. He had several children, George, my great grandfather, who was born in Cordova, Il. who was the father of my grandfather, Eddie, born in Eastern Iowa. John, who is your immediate relative, may be a great uncle to me. Timothy had MANY other children who I can't remember their names, but when I heard the name "John Enwright", that did ring bells! Good Luck, I'm looking forward to finding out what YOU found out on your "incredible journey" to our home-land.

Chuck, I am interested in your Timothy Enwright family. Are there any of the male children name with a name beginning with J or F? My Enwright line rather dead ends with a John ?F Enwright somewhere around 1850-70. A son Frank J was born in Ohio in the late 1800's.. Am still guessing on dates - going by marriage info of Frank. I am the son of Don Enwright of Clinton, Iowa, grandson to Eddie Enwright, great grandson of George Enwright and great-great grandson of Timothy Enwright. I am excited to find information dating back that far and I believe I have Chuck Kerr to thank. So, thank you Chuck.
