Thanks for responding, but my Nancy Enyard Farris couldn't be the wife of Andrew Hammell. As she was married to my Samuel Wilcoxson Walker when Andrew and Nancy M. were still married.

My Nancy Enyard Farris was born in Virginia according to the 1880 Census for Dover, Mo. when she is living with her grandson John Walker and his family.

Also according to the 1880 census for Higginsville, Mo. the mother of Mary Ellen Vivion, was born in Virginia. Mary Ellen's father was born in NC. Mary Ellen's husband is Geo. W. Vivion.

The Missouri online death certificates list Mary Ellen Vivion as the daughter of Nancy Farris born in Kentucky and Samuel Walker born in Kentucky. I believe the location of Kentucky is incorrect. Samuel W. Vivion signed the death certificated, but he may have put Kentucky because that is where Samuel & Nancy were married not where they were born.

Still looking for the Virginia Farris's

I have Nancy Enyard Ferris as the daughter of Ebenezer Ferris and Getta Ann Edmonds. Ebenezer was the son fo Isaac Ferris and Mary Sherwood. Isaac was the son of John Ferris and Sarah Mead. Nancy first married Andrew Hammell and second to Samuel Wilcoxson Walker. At this point, I have no idea as to where Nancy's middle name came from.

I'm looking for the parents of Nancy Enyard Farris b. 13 Jan 1792 in Virginia. Do you know of any Enyard / Farris marriages in Virginia before 1792? I'm guessing Enyard must be a clue to either her mother or grandparents.
Nancy's husband was Samuel Wilcoxson Walker. Nancy & Samuel moved to Missouri where they are buried in Lexington, Mo.
Thanks for your help.

9 November 1916 The People’s Defender

Fall Kills Former Adams County Boy

Virgil Enyart Thrown From Horse While Taking a Ride

Local Minister’s Son

Held High Position In United States Army, Won By Competitive Exam

Honolulu, Nov. 8 – Lieutenant Virgil V. Enyart, First United States infantry, died here of injuries received when he was thrown from his horse while returning from a review at Schofield barracks. The review was the farewell to his command of Brigadier-General Robert K. Evans, commanding the troops in the department of Hawaii, who goes on the retired list next month. Lieutenant Enyart, a native of Indiana, was appointed to the army in 1912 from Ohio.

Young Enyart was the son of Rev. C. F. Enyart and wife, who once resided at Manchester, where he was in charge of the Methodist congregation there. He has filled several southern Ohio appointments, the last being at Georgetown. At the conclusion of this he went west, where he was an instructor in a Kansas college. Young Enyart won his commission as lieutenant while a student at the Wesleyan university and was immediately transferred to Hawaii. He was in his twenty-fifth year. The parents have another child, Miss Alta, who is still a student in a college at Indianapolis, where they reside.
Oh my gosh. I just got chills. This is my family you are talking about. We are trying to do some research and you have helped a lot. Do you have anymore information about any of the people you listed in your posting???????
Frank E that was born in 1925 and passed in 2001 was my grandfather on my dad's side. Frank R. and Earline Taylor were my great-grandparents and they use to stay in Armstrong, MO before they passed away.
Any information you could give me or any direction you could put me in would be great. This is so important to me to see where my family goes.
You said you have a Press Enyart in your files? Are you related to this set of Enyarts?

I note some differences in your data from what I have:

Is it Prairie du Chien or as you wrote: Praire DuChien?

Our gathered information shows:
Thelma Etta ENYART b 15 Sept 1901 Cresco, Howard County, Iowa (You have 16 Sept. 1901.) Can you cite a record source? Do you have a burial date and burial place?

We have marriage date as:
14 August 1918 Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa.

We had her husband recorded as William Walter JAMES, so I will change that in our data since you state he was William Walker JONES. Do you have a birthplace? And...death date, death place, & burial date and place?

We do have Mardine's listed as daughter, but do not have birthdate, birthplace, etc. Was she an only child? I understand she is still living and so you perhaps do not wish to publish vitals at this time.

Might I suggest that you join our ENYART-L Family Discussion list. Although this BB is gatewayed to the discussion list (meaning your message is also posted to the discussion list from the BB), you may get more responses via a discussion list rather than a BB. We have lots of seasoned researchers on the discussion list.
This info in your previous post says, "...James A Enyart as Dying on Feb 13, 1884 do you show a line that includes his daughter Thelma Etta Enyart." If this is James Andrew Enyart born 1874 he could not have lived to have had a daughter b 1901 or other children, if he was 10 years old when he died.
Hi Ron
A quick reply before I have to leave for the evening. The sources we have seen have James Andrew Enyart as being born 13 Feb 1874, note the marriage date which is also the date I have, he would have been 7 years old in 1891 if born in 1884. I did have Thelma, I have her dying in Jun 1986 in Minneapolis (per SSDI). I have James Andrew in 1910 residing in Fayette county, IA sometime between 1910 and 1942 he moved to Mara, Kanabec county, MN, dying in 1957 in Minneapolis. I also have that he was a barber at some point.

Alan

HELLO .
Yes Sarah Davis was James Ma. Nelson , Sarah's husband I have born around 1848 in Missouri to James and Mary. Nelson and Sarah were married in 1871 Oct 15 in Crawford co. Wisconsin. I found that on familysearch . org
Nelson and Sarah were married but their name was spelled alittle different. I believe I sent away for the original in Wis. Off the top of my knobby head I would say it was Engart ? I have the paper somewhere ! Looking forwards to our mutual adventure !
Paul

For a long time I was trying to figure out which year for sure Nelson Enyart was born, 1819 or as others have 1848. According to his marriage Lic. his parents are James & Mary. so that must say 1819 would be correct. They had the spelling as Eugart. Also had Sarah Davis parents as Thomas & Nancy. That would make Nelsons mother Mary Hahn? Does that seem correct to anyone else. Thanks to Paul who sent for the licence.
Denise

Hi Paul, My Sarah Davis was born (census record from James A. Enyart) in Wi. Nelson Enyart was my gggrandfather. Some have him born in 1819 and some have him in 1848. I can only find the Nelson bor in 1818. According to the obit of Wright Enyart (son)
his parents were Nelson Enyart and Sarah Davis, but no dates. It may be Nelsons 2nd marrige if born in 1818. I can't find anything on them together. I think I found all his census records and it still paints a confusing picture. His children were all born in WI. I'm trying to find out which date is correct so I can link him with his parents. Thanks alot, Denise

ENYART married DAVIS of Wisconsin

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has a date of birth and death date of Sarah Davis, born in Wisconson and was married to Nelson Enyart? Their children are James A. Enyart, Etta Farnsworth Enyart, Wright Enyart. They eventually went to Iowa. Who were her parents?
Thanks, Denise

Linda, thanks for answering this for me. I have 2 Nelson's,
one born 1848 & one born 1818. Nelson from 1848 I believe
to be right one. His son would be James Andrew Enyart.
Are you from this line of Enyarts also?
Denise

ENYARTs of Dayton, Montgomery Co., Ohio

Does anyone know of any Enyarts who lived in Dayton Ohio at least in the 1950s? I am hoping to find anyone who knew of a Mary Harris Enyart. She died in 1985 IU believe in Montgomery Co Ohio. I do not know the nam eof her spouse or any children. She was listed as a stepsister in my great grandmothers obituary from 1958. It simply said Mary Enyart of Dayton. Any help at all greatly appreciated. I think she may have been marreid already by the 1930 census becaus eshe is not liste din her mothers household. That was in Butler Co Ohio.
