I can't believe you are actually going to Wagenstadt!
My Enz line traces down from Jakob Enz to Theresa Ketterer (through Rombach/Enz), who married Wilhelm Gaertner. Wilhelm and Theresa emigrated to the U.S. in 1861-2 and settled in Lancaster, PA.
My great, great grandmother MARIA Gaertner, daughter of Wilhelm & Theresa, had an illegitimate son, Charles or Karl, in 1860-61 while in Baden. I would love to find out who is listed as his father on the birth record, but I have nothing. If you can find out the name of the local catholic church, it would be a great boost to my researching, as I can write to them and ask for his birth record.
You may contact me directly at krupa@windstream.net.
Hope you have a pleasant journey and accomplish your own mission.
