Epler, Frease, and my ongoing failure...

Here's part of my Great Grandmother's obituary:

The Brookville Republican March 12, 1908 MRS LAVINA NEAL ....... She was united in marriage to Lawrence Neal 1855 and had lived ever since in the locality in which she died ....The family consisted of five daughters and four sons all of whom survive except Esther, wife of Mr. Mayo, who died a few years ago. They are as follows: ......... ... Mrs. Edna Lee Frease, New York City......

And here's my grandfather's land indenture thing:

Brookville, Penn’a, Mar. 13, 1908.

Dear Sirs:
We have prepared the deed for the land owned by your father, and the same is in proper form and ready for execution.

As three of the heirs reside in New York City, we have made but one acknowledgment for them, and wish them all to join in this. They can do this by leaving the deed before some Notary Public and calling there at such time as they may fix.

It will be necessary for this deed to he taken to the Clerk of one of the Courts of New York City, and have him attach thereto a certificate to the effect that the Notary who took the acknowledgment, had power to take acknowledgments, was duly commissioned, and that the acknowledgment is in the officers proper handwriting, This is necessary before the deed can he recorded in this State. Our law requires that all deeds acknowledged outside of the State, have a certificate attached to the effect that the Notary had power to take the acknowledgment, and that the same is in his own handwriting. Our la also requires that t Notary taking the acknowledgment must state the date when his commission expires. This should be noted at the end of the acknowledgment under his signature,
Yours very truly,
Carmalt & Strong
LCS

THIS INDENTURE, made the — ___ day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eight (1908) between GEORGE W. NEAL and ALICE NEAL, his wife, of Nebraska, in the County of Forest, and State, of Pennsylvania, JESSE H. NEAL and ALICE his wife, of Loleta, in the County of Elk, and State foresaid, ELIZABETH. M. EPLER and MORTON EPLER her husband, EDNA B. and LAWRENCE FREASE.....

Now I cannot find any record of anyone named Lawrence Frease much less of any of my relatives marrying him, and the same goes for Morton Epler. I simply cannot find any census record or other records that fit the perameters of any female members of my family.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Looking for parents of Martin Epler, born Jan 21, 1859 in Lancaster. He has a brother Sam and three sisters, Annie, Lizzie and Emma who were all living in the Albany and Dunshore area of PA in 1933. Martin married Caroline Nevil in 1878 and they had no children. Martin moved to Otter Tail County, MN in 1895 in the same town my Epler's, Joseph, Joshua and Jacob Epler, early settlers in that area, lived. I feel as though they must be related but so far cannot make a connection. Matrin and Caroline eventually moved to Craig, MT and then to Oregon where he passed away in 1933. Caroline died in Oregon in 1942 but they are both buried in Otter Tail Cemetery, Otter Tail, MN

I am researching my family - I have been stuck on the Epler relations. If anyone knows of the name Jane Epler that married a Martin Hurst Clark, I would love to hear from you. I have been given no dates of birth or death - just names. I am guessing Jane was born in the mid 1800's. thank you

Epler Descendent Charts Available

In an effort to identify my Epler ancestors, I have compiled three descendent charts for the earliest Epler immigrants to Lancaster County in the area that became Berks Co. in 1752. The immigrants are the brothers Adam and Peter Epler in 1734 and Johannes (Hans) John Epler and his wife Anna Barbara Wistar in 1737. Because the charts are almost entirely based on over 50 secondary sources found on the Web, I do not want to publish them on the Web. However they contain over 400 Epler descendents and I believe that they represent one of the largest compilations of Epler descendents available.

I will be happy to email them to anyone interested. They are available as a 60-kB Word-97 DOC file or as a 27-kB ASCII TXT file. Send your request to me at hkoons@msn.com and specify the file type.
