I am not kidding. She married Joseph E. Dollar, also of Cullman. I know nothing of her except what my dad told me years ago. He is dead now along with all of his brothers and sisters.
John's first wife was Henrietta Hodges, daughter of Willis and Lydia Baldwin Hodges. Verification is Lydia's will which I will send to you in personal email (if you will send your email address) as it is a little long for message board. I assume the son Willis Epps was named for Henrietta's father. Not sure about the other children and which wife they belong to.

Thanks for your response. I am still researching and I am elated to hear from someone. My great-grandfather's name was Thomas (Tom) Epps, his mother's name was Dianna (I don't know her maiden name), and Thomas married Harriet (Don't know her maiden name), and they had children, the same ones that you mentioned. Thomas and Harriet lived in Ardmore, OK for a while, actually James (Jonas), was my grandfather. I hope to hear back from you.

Check out Virginia genealogy. There are lots of Eppes there. This is a cool piece of History from:
"John Wayles Eppes (1773–1823) was born near Petersburg, Virginia. Educated at home, at the College of William and Mary, and in Philadelphia, Eppes studied the sciences and law under the direction of his uncle Thomas Jefferson. Eppes became a successful attorney and planter, represented Virginia in the United States House of Representatives (1803–11 and 1813–15), and in the Senate (1817–1819). On 13 October 1797, he married Thomas Jefferson’s daughter Maria, with whom he had three children. Their only surviving child, Francis Wayles Eppes, was born in 1801 at Monticello. Eppes was a staunch political supporter and regular correspondent of Jefferson, even after his wife’s death in 1804 and his second marriage to Martha Burke Jones on 15 April 1809. With Martha, Eppes had four more children. After retiring from office in 1819 due to poor health, Eppes returned to his prosperous Buckingham County tobacco plantation, Millbrook, and remained there until his death."

My Spain ancestors are intertwined with Epps/Eppes in Virginia from 1700's.

Good luck with your search.

I know its been a while since your post but I hope you are still researching. I am researching My Featherston Family line and gggrandfather's sister married a Epps and she had a son named Thomas Epps who married Harriet Sanders. Tom as he was called was born in Lewisville, Lafayette County, Ar. He had 7 sisters and brothers and they spread around Garland, Miller County, AR and Hope, Hempstead County, AR. After that I cant seem to locate them. I heard somewhere along the lines that some of them moved to Oklahoma, around Idabel and some moved to Paris Texas. Tom and Harriet had 5 children-Jessie, Lucious, Hal, James and Robert.

I have information on this family. John Chappell Epps (10/19/1812-10/28/1865) married Martha A Tharp (1825-8/20/1891)daughter of Jeremiah A Tharp & Jane A Dunn, about 1840. I had no information on a first wife but have the same children except I also have a daughter named Martha. Would be happy to share info on the Tharp family with you. Do you know parents of John?
