I do not have anyone by that name, although future decendents of the family have used the name John. If your relative is related they should have been born in same area. I will need to look up your location and see where it is in regards to the information I have. If your ancestor is related he would have been born after Johanna. I will double check on other sites. Maybe when he came in he listed relatives. By the way, he came in same year as my ancestors. Maybe they are related. Don't write it off yet.

Do you have any info on John(Johan) Erik Erlandson (Erlandsson)?
He came from Sweden in 1882, born in Smaland,1859.
He married in Dawson MN, and moved to Gun Lake and Aitkin MN around 1901. We don't know anything about his siblings.

My great grandfather was John Erick Erlandson, and my grandfather was Emil Erlandson, any relations? Johns Family came from the Dawson Minnesota area, and they moved to Gun Lake and Aitkin in 1901.

There was a family named Erlandson who lived in the vicinity of Manistee, Michigan from at least the 1950's through the 1970's. Mr. Erlandson died in the late 1940's or early 1950's. "Tillie," his wife, lived until the 1970's. She was previously married to a Mr. Johnson, and had children by both spouses. Thus, there were half-siblings whose surnames were Johnson and Erlandson.

Nils Erlandsson Relatives

I am looking for descendants of Nils Erlandsson b.1846, who emigrated about 1888.
His wife Karna Nilsson b.1845 emigrated 1891 with to daughters, Maria b.1880 and Hilda b.1885, the son Erland Nilsson b.1870 left in 1890, and their destination was St.Paul MN.
They came from Lunnarp nr11 in Kverrestad parish, Skåne province, and Kristianstad County.

I am also Greg, Grandfather was Emil gm was Rose. His Dad was John. I lived in Duluth & Superior for many years. The family was from Aitkin MN. John came from Sweden as a Johhson, then changed his name.

My mother was Ingrie Erlandson, Her Father was Hans. I far as I can see, his father was Ola Petter, Mum was born in Casterton in Victoria in 1903. I have just started doing the family tree on computer. My father did the original search about 20 years ago. Hans Peter married a Ballagh in Colac Vic. I don't know much about these message boards.

My mother was an Erlandson. Her father was Hans, his father was Ola.

Sorry it's taken me almost a year to reply to your posting about the Erlandson family. I seem to have fallen out of the loop for a while. Your e-mail address bounced my message back to me, so I will reply here.

Two of Anders Erlandson's children are still living, but communicating with them is tricky, and their father died young so everyone is very foggy on his particulars. I am working on getting information from them.

Please contact me so we can see if we're looking at the same people.

Ola Petter and Allan Erlandson were 2 Swedish brothers who came to Australia about 1850 from Goteborg Sweden.

Allan married Mary Blakiston and they had 9 children Mabel, Irene, Julia, Edward, Allan Florence, Reginald, Elna and Eric Jonas.

Seeking ancestry and families of Rheinhold Erlanson b abt 1881 in Sweden came to U.S. in 1888, had a child Lamvert b 1902 in Texas by one wife, another, Gustav in 1907 in Iowa, then he returned to family in Texas.

Need information on Erl Alfred Erlandson, Norway.

He married my Great Aunt Harriette Ruth Rittenberg/Rittenburg. The marriage would have been prior to 1941, she then married Theodore Eggers. Erl and Harriette had two children, Donald and Virginia.

He settled in the Washington State area. Harriette was born and raised in Washington State.

On the weekend I bought a book that had formerly been owned by P. Erlandson of Skomslad, Sweden, and I'm curious to know more about him. (I hope that I have spelled the name of the town correctly; the handwriting in the book is unclear).

Apparently, this man had a connection with the ship Stella Polaris, judging by the newspaper clippings with the book.

Would anyone familiar with Swedish be able to translate a few sentences for me? My little Swedish-English dictionary hasn't been of much help.

Barbara L. Erlandson, 81, of San Diego died Feb. 26. She was born in Los Angeles and was a homemaker. She was a member of Mission Bay Yacht Club. Survivors include her husband, Ken; daughters, Norma Underwood of San Clemente and Kris Erlandson of San Diego; sister, Mary Alice Kyle of Beavercreek, Ore.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. It looks to me that you are searching for the same family. The twins Anders Josef and Emil Gottfrid was born on the 22 th of Oct 1873. And what looks to me as a little coinsidence, Anders married Anna Pamela (Paulina) Swanstrom. Is this the same Swanstrom that I gave you names on in my other post?
Anders Erlandsson was born at Holmen in Kalv parish in 1829. He married Anna Eleonora Andersdotter b 1840 in Ågården in Kalv parish. Their children were.. Ida Elisabeth b 27/1 1861 dead same year, Anders Johan b 7/2 1862 dead same year, Karl Johan b 30/4 1863, Karl August b 29/9 1864, Johanna Maria b 2/2 1866, Mårten Adolf b 23/1 1868, Hanna Matilda b 26/9 1869, Lars Enock b 15/1 1872 d 1881, The twins Anders Josef and Emil Gottfrid b 22/10 1873, Johan Aaron b 19/9 1876. Five of the children left to USA still very young. Anders Erlandsson died 1905 and Anna Eleonora died in 1909

I am looking for relatives of Anders Erlanson, born 1829 in Kalf Parish, Älvsborgs län, and resided at Ågården, Kalf Parish in 1890. He may have died in 1905. He was an organ builder and musician. He was married to Anna Eleonora Andersdotter and had at least six children. I have pictures of the family.

I wonder if we are looking at the same family. I am looking at 6 Erlandson/Erlandsson siblings who came from Sweden between 1890 and 1910. They settled first near Boston, and then moved west. Their parents were purportedly Anders Joseph and Elnora Erlandsson.
1. Anders (known as Andrew in the US) born c. 1874. Immigrated in 1890 and later moved to St. Paul, MN, marrying Anna Pamela Swanstrom, having 3 children, and dying in the early 1930's. My great-grandfather.
2. Gottfried, Anders' twin. Perhaps the Godfrey Erlandson, married to Millie, who lived in Lowell MA in 1900 and in Fresno in 1920. Is this your Jonah Godfrey?
3. Johanna. Perhaps your Hannah?
4. Martin.
5. Matilda.
6. John or Johan.

I'm not sure how much this will help as I have just begun the search for my family history myself.
I am an Erlandson from Massachusetts. My Grandfather was Richard H. Erlandson of Dedham, MA who died in 1996. His children were Richard, Mark, John (my father), Sharon, Faith, Hope, and Sarah which all grew up around the Norwood area. I know my great grandparents were straight from Sweden but I don't know their names. My parents were divorced when I was 2 and I have never been close to my father whom I haven't seen in years.
I hope this helps and I will try to post more information as I find it.

Marion Erlandson, age 85, of San Antonio, died Friday, September 14, 2001. She was born March 5, 1916 in Valley City, ND to Rev. Luther and Marie Runge Eberly. She married Erling Erlandson on January 6, 1939. As a military wife, she lived all over the world from Hawaii to France, Wisconsin to Georgia and many points in between, always holding her family together. Mrs. Erlandson was a retired school teacher and had been a San Antonio resident since 1975. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church. Mrs. Erlandson was an active artist, an avid bridge player, was a golfer and bowler and enjoyed traveling and being with her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Erlandson was preceded in death by her husband, Erling Erlandson on February 5, 1999, and also 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
