Wondering if your Robert Leonard Erp and my Robert L. Erp are the same man? My Robert L. Erp had at least two children - John Wesley and Anna. Anna was my great-grandmother.

I am also a descendant of Singleton Erp, through my great-grandmother, Anna Erp Wallen. Her parents were Robert Erp and his first wife Rebecca. I would be interested in learning more about the Erp family, as I just discovered this line last night, smile. Thanks for any help.

The middle name caught my eye.
My Stokes family is Wales/Scotland/Ireland, but many of their registered activities seem to have ben at sea!
Do you happen to know if your Stokes family came from a military background?
Mine are difficult to trace, as being in the militia, could be just about anywhere in the world at any given time.

I am looking for information on my G Grandfather Peter Homer Erhp/Erp/Earp. He married Mary Davis. They had 4 kids Dorothy, Marjorie (my grandmother), Peter Jr and Burl.

I know his family came from Schlesweig holstein and moved to Holstein, Iowa. Any help would be appreciated.

Looking for info on my great-grandmother, Anna O. Erp. I know very little about her - she was born March 5, 1900 and died March 1982, I believe in Florida. Married to Ira E. Wallen but later divorced. Their daughter, my grandmother, was born in 1929 in Indiana.

He married Helen E. Gerber, heer parents were Simon Gerber and mother was Sophia (orphan from Canada). ANy info on her too.

My grandmothers name was Helen Elizabeth Erp (Gerber) grandfathers name was Harvey Marion Erp, could they be related? Been looking for my great grandparents for a while, but just started on the internet. Also You could try the Earpconnection.tripod.com for info about Wyatt Earp., I found it the other day. Neat site. My 2nd Great-Grandmother was Elizabeth M. Erp of Pulaski County, Kentucky. Her father, Singleton Erp is listed as both Erp and Earp. Near as I can figure it out, he couldn't write, and some Government official spelled it like it sounds. ERP instead of EARP. They descend from the same line of EARP's as Wyatt. Singleton and Wyatt were 2nd cousins.

I'm from what i can find a decedent of Singleton. From what i was always told by my grandfather Robert Leanard Erp...was that he went into the military and the military forgot to put the A in it...whether this is true or not i have no clue...

Your information is greatly appreciated. I also have found Singleton Earp listed as Erp when searching for info on Earp. My husband is a descendant of Singleton Earp ( with first wife Rebecca Herrin). Their son, Allen Earp had a son Allen J. Erp (born 1859 in Indiana). This seems to be the time when the surname is consistly spelled Erp. My husband's grandmother (on mother's side) was Zonda Claire Erp.

My husband also has an ERP in his ancestry (about 3 generations back). He has been told by a great aunt that the original spelling of "earp" was changed due to the unsavory character of Wyatt Earp (of Tombstone fame). Don't know it this is just an old tale or if it has some truth to it.

I can not find out if somehow the Erp was related to Earp. The family tree in which Erp is mentioned,has a Clarence Erp (born 1882), son of Allen Jefferson Erp and Sarah Ann Beebe. I could not find Allen Jefferson Erp (which had a son of Clarence)in any info which I have searched.
