Lambert and Amelia Erpelding

Seeking information about the family of Lambert and Amelia Erpelding who were the parents of Frank, George, John, and Amelia, all born in Illinois (probably Chicago). The family moved to Riley County KS in the 1880's and son Frank married and stayed there. The rest of the family seems to have returned to Chicago by about 1900. George married Ella Judge and they had a daughter named Eleanor who married John Bowles. Need to know more about this family. Thanks.

I would like to know if anyone has any information on my maternal grandmother's family. Her name was Theresa A. Erpelding and she had a sister named Ethel. My grandmother Theresa was born in Indiana in May 1908 and I am looking for information on her parents. I'm trying to find out if they came from Germany or if it was THEIR parent that was from Germany.
I would appreciate any information and should someone have information that is verifiable, I am willing to share current information on the family.
If you e-mail me just put Erpelding in the subject so I will know it's not junk mail.
Thanks so much!

Are we related?

Hi,
I just found out that my mom, who was adopted, was born Yvonne Erpelding, on April 27, 1921, at the Willows Maternity Sanitarium in Jackson County Missouri. Her birth mom was 19 years old and had 1 sister and 3 brothers. Her birth dad was 28.
My mom was adopted and her name was changed to Rosemary Holly. She grew up in California and married my father and moved to Brooklyn, New York, where I was born. She had 3 children. I now live in Hawaii and my sister and brother live in Georgia.
I would love to find out about our family, so if anyone has any info for me, I would so appreciate it. Thank you, Lynn McGovern

Might this be yours? Going thru my notes, there is a Caspar/Gaspard Erpelding b 6 Oct 1770 in Reckange, md Catherine Koerperich. He died 23 May 1851 in Holzem, Luxembourg. Their children were Jacques b. 1799; Marguerite b 1802,; Helene b 1804; Anne Marguerite b 1806, md Jean Limon (sp?); Joseph b 1808, md Marguerite Musel, d 1869; Anne Marie b 1811, md Philippe Rics; Catherine b 1813, md Nicolas Didori???

I have no additional information on these children, other than my direct line. Let me know if you make a connection. Peg Kenaga

Erpelding Family, Minnesota

Would this be of help in Erpelding research? It is my understanding that Emil(e) Erpelding, who lived in Luxembourg, researched the Erpelding family thru church and civil records. He established three (possibly four) separate lines that did not connect as far back as he could find them. Emil has since died. I do not know what has become of his work. Though I do have some of the info that he gathered on my line. However, if you go to the LDS site (familysearch.org), and check in the catalog you will find two films that he was involved in creating the reference material. Perhaps one of these would be related to your line.

My family of Erpeldings were in Adrian, MN from 1870 to about 1920. There were two separate Erpelding families, with no known connection between them. And possibly a third elsewhere in the county of Nobles, MN.

Additionally, Frank Klein, whose grandmother was one of the other Adrian Erpeldings, has published two books about his genealogy. One is about his Kellen side, who came from Luxembourg. It is very helpful in learning about some of the immigration patterns, etc. These are also available on micorfilm thru the LDS church.

Good luck. Peg Kenaga

Erpeldings from Luxembourg

I am looking for descendants of Joseph Erpelding (b 1808 in Holzem, d 1869 Holzem) and Marguerite Musel (b abt 1810, d 1891 in Holzem) of Luxembourg. Their children who lived to adulthood were:
Pierre (b 1835 Holzem, md Marguerite Komes, d 1906 Lux); Marie (b 1838 Holzem, md Jean Frantz, d 1917 Lux);
Jean (b 1840 Holzem, md 1 Marie Reichling, md 2 Antoinette Schafs, d 1905 Lux);
Jean Pierre Joseph (b 1842 Holzem, md Marguerite Kirpach, d 1919 Lux);
Anne Marie (b 1845 Holzem, md 1 Pierre Bohler, md 2 Theodore Wezland, d 1906 Lux); and
Nicolas (b 1850, md Hanorah Prindable, d 1938).

Nicholas Erpelding, b 1850 and emigrated from Luxembourg in 1871, and eventually settled in Adrian, Nobles, MN. He married Hanorah Prindable in 1890, and they had 3 children: John Kenneth, Donald Horace, and Margaret Gladys (died 16 yrs).

My grandfather was John Kenneth. There were 2 families named Erpelding in Adrian, MN when my mother was growing up. Both were from Luxembourg emigrants, but they did not know of any connection between them. There may have been a 3rd unrelated family of Erpeldings in Adrian at one time.
