I'm looking for information on my ggggg-grandfather, Hawley/Holley Ervin.

I know his family was Scottish and moved to Ireland before receiving a land grant and moving to Ontario, Canada. I'm guessing he was born around 1780, and a helpful research partner informed me his wife was Anne Bowman. I am descended from his son James, who was born about 1810 and married Rebecca Jane Walker.

If anyone can help me identify siblings, parents or his birthplace, I would be extremely grateful.
