When you refer to Leona, are you referring to "Sis", which is how we knew your mother? My dad was D.B. "Pete" Eller, who died October 10, 1998. He was just younger than Hermon. O.D. did live in Tulsa, but he died a few years ago, too. His daughter, Susan, lives in New Mexico, I think, and Paul lives in Broken Arrow. I'm not sure where the other two live. I assume you probably know where Hermon's kids are.

My brother, Vechil, lives in Tahlequah, and my mother, Pauline, still lives in Broken Arrow. Dona Bynum (David Melton's sister) has one son left, and he lives in Tahlequah, too.

I just retired a few months ago and I am hoping to get into doing more geneology before long. I saw another post here that had some information about Granny's maiden name. If I find more information, I will be glad to share it with you.

Paula Eller Kirkpatrick
This man I believe is my great grandfather as well. My mother's maiden name is Ervin. My Grandfather's name was George H Ervin. Other names that I remember are Anna Korth, as well as Charles Ervin. I have two uncles, Donald Ervin and the eldest Alan Ervin. My Grandfather was from Eagle River Wisconsin and formerly from Canada. I was told that we were from Royalty in England/Scotland from the House of Stuart. I am not quite sure how to trace all of this but would love to discuss it with you. My email address is as follows: john.mesich@yahoo.com

Sincerely,

John

Ervin family in New Jersey

I am looking for information on the family of James Ervin who was born in New Jersey in 1810. He married Elizabeth Crane, daughter of Jeremiah Crane, in 1833. They lived in what was Union Twp. Essex County, New Jersey in 1850 according to the 1850 census. Elizabeth died in 1850 or 51 and is buried in the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth, New Jersey cemetary. Her name is listed as Erwin on her tombstone. James married Mary Elizabeth Crane, Elizabeth's cousin, and the family migrated to Wisconsin in 1852.

Re: Ervin family - Jackson & Vinton County, Ohio

I descend from Owen's son Vinton, and have been seeking the identity of Owen's father for over 5 years. We believe that it may be Samuel Ervin (b-abt 1775 PA, MD) but there is no physical evidence to draw this conclusion, only circumstantial.

I can tell you that Robert (b-1804 VA) and Alexander Brandon (b-1811 VA) are not his brothers. We have determined this from DNA tests. However, we know that Robert and Alexander were brothers based on Robert's will.

A descendant of Thomas (b-1795 KY) was also tested and because his DNA matched, we feel fairly confident that he is indeed Owen's half-brother.

There are some researchers that believe the Joseph you are mentioning is Thomas' son. I beleive this assumption is largely based on the family names of some of Joesph's children.

For more dicussion on this specific family group, or to join in the DNA testing, visit my site leavesonbranches.com.

From whom do you descend in this family?

Amy Ervin-Smithson

Thom Odie Ervin

Hi there I'm looking for information on Thom Odie Ervin. According to my father, Harry Glenn Ervin (junior I think), he lived in Oklahoma and owned an oil company, or something to do with oil. I believe he is my great grandfather.

And also I'm searching for his relatives. There are some relatives in Colorado and Kansas for sure, and some in California but not too sure about that one.

Thanks for any information.

Thom Odie Ervin II

I ran across this while trying to piece all this together. As far as we know Griffiths 2nd wife's name was lydia, his first wife's name was Deborah. I was just attempting to make sure that the Deborah you speak of didn't belong to his first wife. It wouldn't have been uncommon back then for his first wife to have died possibly during child birth or shortly after and a second wife to come along soon after and everyone now to assume she was the mother. Just checking the time line.
