Hello I am looking for information on Gotfried Eschenbrenner (born around 1834 in France) and his wife Mary (born around 1847 in Germany, don't know her maiden name). According to the 1880 census, they were living in Kansas with their children Mary, Barbara, Gotfried, and Jeniece.

Their daughter Mary (born about 1867) ended up in Missouri married to John Rauscher.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Interested in finding more about, Joseph Eschenbrenner born 1880 in Missouri, death 1968 St. Louis County. Married Lena Brockmeier, born 1884 died 1974. Children; Elmer, Irvin, Helen, Esther and Estelle. Would like to see if there is a connection to George H. Eschenbrenner family. Both family's were listed living in the Bonhomme Township of St. Louis County, Missouri. From what I have already researched Joseph parents or grandparents would have to be the connecting point.
All though I don't think we are directly related, there is enough evidence that several of the Eschenbrenner branch in US all might have a common George Eschenbrenner in our tree from Alsac-Lorraine area.

I recently pulled a MAJOR error and lost everything on my computer. I stll have some hardcopies and a cousin that is very active in geneology. So everything not lost. [Just all my time entering and editing].

I would love to have the information you have, hopefully can eventually get the branches linked. I will forward the the cousin that is working on this also.

Thanks.

Do you want copies of any the material I mentioned in my email?

<sent 11/26/04>
Thanks for responding to my post! Diebold was my mother's great grandfather through his daugher Clara, her son Carl-my mother's father/my grandfather. My mother is Carlla Knaus and she grew up in Hamilton, OH.

We have the names/vitals of Diebold and Louisa's 12 children. Both my mom and her cousin have copies of Diebold's civil war records. Apparently our cousin Clare has a copy of a book "We were the Ninth" which describes life in the military unit Deibold served in. I haven't seen a copy of it yet.
My mom and I are trying to find more information about Diebold and Louisa's parents. We believe Diebold's parents were George and Dorothea. Louisa's parents were Michael Fries and Barbara Ripperger and I have a copy of their marriage certificate from 1843. Let me know if you'd like a copy. I could scan it and send it by email. Do you know anything about Michael and Barbara? Also-I might have a copy of Louisa's birth certificate-but I'd have to see if I have it or if my Mom has it.

My mother says that Deibold and his brothers George and Charlie lived together on Vine St in Cincinnati. Charlie owned some saloons and was a Brewmaster. I believe this information was a City Directory from Cincinnati.

I am also the gg-grandson of George Eschenbrenner from Alsace-Lorraine. The information I have only goes to George and his wife, Doretha Eschenbrenner. I do not know any further back. His son, Diebold born 2-27-1837 was my g-grandfather. Diebold was a tailor of the catholic faith, who served in the Civil War (Records of 1880 census). He and his wife had 12 children. They lived on a farm in the Peach Grove area of Cincinnati. My grandfather, George Eschenbrenner was one of those 12 children. My father was Edwin Anthony Eschenbrenner. I would be interested to know if this is the same George whom is your relative. As I said I do not know anything about the first George, but would be curious to know if I have relatives in other states.
Very Sincerely,
Edwin A. Eschenbrenner

Looking for info on these and other Eschenbrenners. They lived primarily in the Cincinnati, Ohio area (from Alsace-Lorraine). My connection is through their son Debolt (alt. spellings Diebolt, Theobold) who married Louisa Cecelia Fries in 1864.
To: Larry Eschenbrenner
I am related to George Eschenbrenner and am from Alsace-Lorraine. The Eschenbrenner family is on my maternal grandmother's side. I am now living in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia (emigrated in 1993). Please write back if you are getting this message.

Best regards,
Sonia Barthelmebs
PS: I was wondering about George Eschenbrenner, too. To my knowledge two of his sons tried to locate family members in Alsace around WWII.
