I'm getting in in the middle of this conversation, sorry, but are you sure that "your" Jesus Escobedo is a him? I have been trying to help my husband, Robert L Escobedo Sr, trace his ancestry. His grandmother's name was Maria de Jesus Ortiz-Escobedo. She was born in Coal.. Mexico in 1898, and died in Ft Morgan Colorado in 1975. She went by Jesus, or Chuey. We have been having trouble tracking down her husband Ermelindo Escobedo's ancestry, because somewhere during his youth, he killed a Texas Ranger, and changed his name. From what, to what, we have no idea. He took the name Ermelindo Escobedo from a town named Escobedo. Robert's mother knows something, but refuses to talk about it. She's 90 years old, and who cares anymore, but I think that she will take the truths to her grave. How sad. My husband only wants to know hs heritage. I can trace mine back to the 7th century, and it's not that important to me. Well they say by the time you say "to make a long story short" it's way too late. Sorry. God bless, Kathleen G Escobedo
