Eschenbach-Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

I am descended from Andrew (Andreas) Eschenbach (#1) the Moravian Missionary (born. in Naumburg, Saxony in 1710 and died in Berks County PA in. 1763). I am descended through Andrew's first wife, Johanna Catharina Muntz (Mintz, Mintzer, etc.)

One of their children was Andrew Eschenbach (# 2)--born Berks County PA in 1745 and died in Monroe, County PA. in 1833.

Andrew # 2 was PROBABLY married twice--first to an Elizabeth Zimmerman and then to a Susannah Fink. (Debate and speculation about his wives is almost certain!!)

Andrew # 2 had a son Joseph Eschenbach (b. 1807 in Monroe County?, Pennsylvania). Joseph was married to Maria Gilbert in PA and moved to Wisconsin c. 1843. Joseph died in Wausau, Wisconsin (Marathon County) in 1887.

Joseph and Maria (Gilbert) Eschenbach had a daughter Delilah Eschenbach (b. 1842 in PA and died 1913 in Marathon County, Wisconsin.). Delilah married Henry Lucas Pearce in Portage County, Wisconsin in 1860..

Delilah (Eschenbach) Pearce and Henry Lucas Pearce had a daughter, Alice Letitia Pearce (1864-1938).

Alice L. Pearce married John G. Prain Sr. (in Marathon County, Wisconsin).

Their son was John G. Prain Jr. (1893-1964) m. Ella Treptow.

Their son was Warren C. Prain (1923-1983) m. Irene Schael.

I am their son, Jon R. Prain (b. 1961 in Marathon, County Wisconsin).

I have done a good bit of research on this family--but I am always in need of new and improved data. I am willing to correspond and exchange ideas and research.

Jon Prain
prain4u@avonil.net

I have tried to make at least some contact with the other Eschenbach researchers over the years whenever I have found them on the internet. I think I may have communicated with Ms. Weber many years ago---but not recently (Time sure flies!!!!)

Thanks again!!!

Somehow you are in my Eshenbaugh line; which I know very little about. My grandfather was Louis N., son of Thomas and Isabella Waddle Eshenbaugh. I have the memory book from his funeral and thier is a group signing which reads (John Eshenbaugh, Eve and Herb Brunner, Helen and Mearle Eshenbaugh, Ida and Harry Aston). This group clustered the names so it would be understood that they came together. I remember my mother mentioning Merna also. How are these people related to you and to Thomas and Isabella Eshenbaugh?
