I have a Mendel ESkin who came to the US from Vilnius or n. Poland(once Russia). He was brother to my Devorah, Schifra, Lazar and Rueben. Two other brothers Samuel Leib and Ansell were last seen in Vilnius during WWII.
Mendel(Max) is unknown to me but I know they imigrated in the late 1800's(abut 1895 I think without looking at everything.
We just found out about "Max" as he was unknown to my cousin and I who are researching the family tree. Most of the family lived on the east coast and stayed in that area except for Rueben and Lazar who lived around the Chicago area. No sure if there is any connection, but thought i would give it a shot. Roslyn
