I agree the Essel surname is not a common one &amp;amp; paraphraising my late father "all Essel's are related".  Whether this is true is debatable.       <description>Hello,&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;I'm looking for descendants of George and Katherine Assel, who emigrated from Bavaria, Germany to Pittsburgh, PA around 1880.  Their children were:&lt;br&gt;Frederick (b.1855) married Wilhelmina&lt;br&gt;Valentine (b.1860) married Wilhelmina&lt;br&gt;Michael (b.1862)&lt;br&gt;Paul (b.1867) married Katherine&lt;br&gt;and perhaps a George Jr.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The Frederick Assel branch was later changed to Essel.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Thank you,&lt;br&gt;Tambra Davis</description>

      <description>My grandfather as his father was named Joseph or Josef Charles Essel, both immigrated from Germany though am uinable to determine the town. My grandfather I believe was born in 1870 and died in 1960 his final resting place Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Champian Road Utica, NY. His wife was Caroline Buehler originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana later moving to Utica, NY where she met and married my grandfather. Her father was Fredinard Buehler, Professor of Music, her mother Sophia Deinnenger. Her siblings names were Constantine, Mammy, Edward, Andrew, Mary, Frank, Elsie Ashmore, Bertha Brown, Mrs. Horman, Edward.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My grandfather siblings were Victoria, Virginia, Julia, Disire, and Virgil J. his childrens names were Rosemary Roemer, Helan Franke, Clara Dempsey, Marie, Virginia Mc Dermett, Joseph Jr., Caroline Hackett and Robert Martin, my father, Fredinhand, Raymond and Edward. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Josef C. Essel my greatgrandfather was a stome mason, my grandfather Joseph C. Essel ran a Boarding House/ Restaurant and was Sexton at Saint Paul's Church, his wife Caroline was a homemaker and Milliner. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Anyone researching the sir name Essel coming accross information which may assist in my quest or suggestions where I may further search please contact me at P.O.
