Am trying to find information on my Grandfather HERMAN OTTO ESSER. Believed to have lived in London and schooled perhaps in Harrow? His family were from Weisbaden Germany. His fathers name was JOHN JACOB ESSER, and his mother was MARGERETTA PHILIPINNA ESSER ( formerly TRAPP). He went to Canada and worked at Murray River as a chef to the then Prince of Wales. We think it would have been around middle 1900`s ?. We think there was a sister who married into the surname BUCKLE, and he was a publican on Wandswoth Common, London. He married my Grandmother ALICE MAUD ESSER ( formerly HILL ) at the Church of The Precioius Blood in Ottowa Canada. There were 3 children were Veronica Alice ESSER born 1918, HELEN ESSER who was born in Montreal Canada, and DOROTHY GERTRUDE ESSER who also was born in Montreal, but died approx 1931 and is buried at Mount Royal Cemetary, or Cote De Naige ? We believe there was a boy who died at 10 days old also kmown as HERMAN OTTO and he is buried in London UK.
The three living children were all schooled at either St Patricks Academy , Montreal, and St Michaels Academy Montreal ( which we know has a name change now).
My Grandfather worked in the Hotel Dieu in Montreal as a chef also.
We also know that there was at least 1 sister of ALICE MAUD ESSER ( formerly HILL). and the name was TOPSY., and perhaps another named EDITH ?. One of them lived in East Modsley, Twikenham.
I would be really grateful if anyone can help piece this puzzle together as i dont seem to be able to pick any links up. I belive that there must be someone who is in the line of relations somewhere.
