Edith H. Wahl (b. May 1879 in NJ) was the wife of John E. Essex (b. May 1879 in Brooklyn, NY). Their only child was Walter E. Essex (b. 18 May 1902 in Brooklyn, NY).

As I mentioned in the above post, Edith and John died when Walter was 2 years old. She was adopted when she was young by Anthony (b. Jan 1849) and Louisa (b. May 1846) Wahl. It's my understanding that the Wahl's were family friends, so her biological parents most likely have a different surname.

None of my family knows who Edith's parents were. I haven't been able to find any marriage records or death records for Edith. I know that adoption records are often sealed. At this point, I'm not sure what to try next!
