hi my name is steve brynes from delaware my ggrandfather robert brynes who was born in penn. but moved and is born in delaware i was told that there was a brother who went to west and one brother who went up north and my ggrandfather stayed on the east coast could possiby be his brother robert was born in 1865 or 1868 i have a copy of his death certificate which tells he was born in pa. his mother maiden name was dori phuen not sure of the last name spelling hard to read and the fathers name was not known but both parents were from ireland steve brynes

Has anyone of the Essner's gotten back to you before this reply? There is a book about to be published the end of this year about the family tree of Theobold Essner family @ 1833 to the US from Alsace Lorraine. Do you know your Jacob's father and father before him and so on....
I come from Theobold's son Adam's line in Canton, Ohio.

I stumbled across this board..I am Mark, son of Jacob Essner,
brother of Joel, father of Jeffrey, an attorney in California..
My great grandparents came here after the Civil War, the family is based around New York City..at least some of us are, another branch went to Washington State.

Am looking for anyone out there with information on the Essner line from Louisville, Ohio (near Canton). My Grandfather was Ulysses Adam Essner born to Roberta Meyers and Ulysses Adam Essner(married??). Raised by the Meyers' and never could tell us anything about his father. MY g-father was born 10-15-1893 in Louisville.
