Can you post more information on your Robert Estes? Who was his spouse(s)? I am an Estes' descendant and am trying to add as many of Abraham Estes and Barbara Brock's other descendants to my working family file. I love finding new cousins..:)

Can you tell me more about Niccolo?
New Estes DNA Testing Opportunity

I wanted to do two things relative to DNA and genealogy.

I want to make sure all of you know that we do have a Bolton DNA project at www.familytreedna.com/public/Estes where Estes men can test to see which Estes families they match. While the Northern and Southern lines both descend initially from Kent, England, there are several other lines with different DNA in the states today.

Second, I want to let you know about a new autosomal DNA testing opportunity. You can see the info here on the blog:
http://the-lost-colony.blogspot.com/2009/09/new-23andme-auto...

Roberta Estes
Estes Family DNA Project Administrator (volunteer)
robertajestes@att.net

I'm trying to find more information on Pollie, but haven't been able to find a single thing. Any information is highly appreciated.

Hi, don't apologize, time gets away from all of us. I haven't checked email in three days. In the interim of my first query I did learn about Charles Franklin and Matilda Bell Wilcher. I also learned that Charles' father was William Wilcher married to Elizabeth "Betsey" McWhorter. Do you have any data on those two and further back? I am connected to this family through Dallis (it's how it's sp. on his birth certificate) Leon Wilcher. If you would like more info on him, please contact me at symphonysams@earthlink.net.

Seeking Estes Threads rel. to Hickman or Dickson Co. in TN

My ggrandfather was Joseph Monroe "Joe" Estes, married 1st to Clara (4 children) in the late 1800's in Dickson Co.. Then married my ggrandmother, Nancy Margaret Tyler, producing John, Alex, Millard (My Grandpa, 1908-1993), Elvy, Twins Ludy & Lucy, & MORE. He was a farmer & she was a midwife. They were both fairly small in stature and probably limited in formal schooling. Joe's father was supposed to be a circuit-preacher Wm. Gary Estes & reported wife was Josephine Austen Estes. I can't find "hide, nor hair" of either, & am beginning to suspect some of this ancient info is in error. Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanx!!! :) Cathy Estes Sparks cathyestessparks@gmail.com

He was my great grandfather. I have a newspaper article about Dr. Taylor Carvosso Estes from the St. Louis Globe DEMocrat and a photo. He had 2 sisters Kero and Sara Josie who married Samuel Wiart Logan and in Poolville, TX. The doctors second family, my great grandmother was a mail order bride Hulda Schmidt , my grandmother was Ida Belle Estes (Richardson). There was someone (distant relative ? ) from Missouri who had researched and written a book about him, no details. He lived for a short time in Illinois where he went to medical school, worked in Southern Illinois, then back in Pulaski County, MO. He was also a preacher and founded a church. He rode the mountains of Pulaski County well into his 80's. Never lost a patient to pneumonia, had several articles in many (about 6 journals) medical journals I read as a child (STOLEN) especially his account of having inflicted rabies on himself, his treatment and survival of the disease.

Re: Estes of Madison County, Kentucky

Elisha Estes was the son of Abraham Estes. Abraham was the first Estes of this line in America. All the children of Abrahan Estes had large families. I have not looked at my records but I know that Elisha Estes had more than ten children. I can think of three that are not on your list. William Estes married Elizabeth Evans, daughter of Wiliam and Grace Evans. Elizabeth Estes married Benjamin Evans, son of William and Grace Evans(My Line). Barbara Estes married Ambrose Holt.

Elisha Evans, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Estes Evans married Mary Ann Estes, daughter of Joel and Ann Harris Estes in Madison County, Kentucky in 1811/12. The dates on Mary Ann Estes are wrong. She could not have been born before her parents. Mary Ann Estes was born on 9-28-1787 in Franklin County, Virginia. She died on 3-11-1874 in Bates County, Missouri and is buried in the France Cemetery in Bates County, Missouri next to her husband.

Ann Harris' will was filed in Van Buren County, Missouri. I think the county is now Johnson County, Missouri. The only non-Estes named in the will was Elisha Evans.

There is a large web site with Estes family information. I think it states that there are over 20,000 people on the site. The easiest was to get there is to type David Powell Estes on a search engine (Google is a search engine.) It is very large. It ends about six generation down from Abraham Estes. One interesting thing, Peter Estes had a son named Joel Estes. This is the Joel Estes for whom Estes Park, Colorado is named.

I feel that I have to much information to put it all on this site. You can contact me at BHEEvans@worldnet.att.net.\\

Brian Evans
