My grand father, José Esteves Torres, originally from Pontevedra, Galicia, in Spain, arrived on Puerto Rico late 1800's. He was serving in the military, stationed in Cuba. He was a master pyrotechnic, and, in the opinion of some, introduced the art of manufacturing fire works in the Caribbean Island of Puerto Rico. Mi abuelo, José Esteves Torres, nació en Pontevedra, Galicia, y llego a Puerto Rico durante las últimas decadas del 1800, desde Cuba a donde servia en las fuerzas militares Españolas. Era un maestro de la pirotecnia y algunos entendidos opininan que introdujo el arte en la isla Caribeña de Puerto Rico. Si hay algunos "parientes" por ahí, me gustaría mucho saber de ustedes.
